the women's and men's Auburn Water Polo teams have an open membership to
all Auburn University students, faculty and staff, although the elegibility
for playing in the conference may be limited to full time students in some
cases.
The teams are in afilliation with the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) and the United States Water Polo (USWP). Membership in the latter one is not required, but strongly encouraged. The teams compete in recreational scrimmages as well as the league championships and other national level competition. Previous experience in either water polo or swimming is not required, although recommended for those seriouslly interested in competing. A participation fee is required each semester for each team and varies according to various factors, although it is not expensive. The main purpose of the clubs is to estimulate an environment conductive to the expansion and development of the organizations, besides kicking Florida's ass.
