Many people have asked why I, a hard rock and rap fan, and average (strait) American male teenager listens to this slow and crazy music. My answer is American guys are always curious about things they don't understand, and I don't speak Mandarin. Plus I am majorly obsessed with Ancient Chinese culture, and a Hong Kong Cinema buff. So I would obviously get into the music. I have thought him the coolest guy ever (next to me) ever sense he fought Alex Man in Rich and Famous.

Alan, along with Leslie Cheung and Andy lau, formed China's music industry into what it is today, whether you like him or not, there's no denying that.
