Program Outline:-
The Hill resort of Dalhousie (7000ft - 2150mt), situated at the main range of Dhauladhar, commands a panoramic view of the ice-covered Pir Panjal Range. It is surrounded by thick forests, and the treks through these forests and the slopes of the mountains are most rewarding.
Parents: may come along, they will be accommodated away from the students. They will not join the treks but will be taken to Khajiar and Dian Kund by motor vehicle. Participation Cost for Parents:-Rs.2,850/- per person for parents in indipendent Room
Package includes:-
The 7 day Base camp will be the Hill resort of Dalhousie "Mehar's Hotel Complex", students will be accommodated on sharing basis in room with 3-6 beds.
Local transport will be Bus or Tata Sumo (depends on the feasibility and need)
Vegetarian food will be provided
A certificate of participation will be awarded to each student.
Reporting at Mehar�s Hotel- Dalhousie . Brief orientation, talk or slide show in the evening, Dinner and Rest.
Trekking during the day in the deep forests and high mountains, introduction of Himalayan flora and fauna, training / techniques of walking /climbing in the mountains, rock climbing, river crossing, talk, slide show, adventure games etc.
Visit to Kala Top wild-life sanctuary and Khajiar, partly by vehicle, including gradual trek.
Valedictory function, distribution of certificates and send off.
