OKIOC consortium, comprising of largest international oil companies such as Agip, Mobil, British Petrolium, British Gas, Total Statoil, Shell, Phillips, Impex continues drilling works at the Eastern Kashagan structure on Caspian shelf. For the moment 4500 meters were drilled. OKIOC confirms presence of oil in Caspian Sea, which is close to Tengiz field oil by its properties.
Reconstruction of roads, social-cultural sites, construction of living houses, mosque, etc., are being continued in Atyrau City. Japanese government took a decision on giving a loan by line of official help in development for total amount 16,539 billion yen, or about $ 143 million to Government of Kazakhstan. This loan will be used for rehabilitation of net of roads of Western Kazakhstan. Particularly, after study of over 4 thousand specialists of Japanese Agency, intervals Aktjubinsk – Kazabota – Kostanai and Atyrau – Uralsk were chosen.
“Marubeni Co” company plans reconstruction of Atyrau Oil Refinery plant for modernization of technology and introduction of new production capacities. Pre-Project study is being conducted at present time. Project is included into the Programm of state investments with governmental guarantee for amount $412 mln. At present time contract for implementation of technical project is been prepared.
World Bank of Reconstruction and development gave a loan in amount of 16,5 million US dollars for reconstruction of water supply system and canalization of Atyrau City. This year our region will get first tranch in amount of 1 million US dollars. Qualification selection of contractors was conducted.
Credit line for SME development was opened in Atyrau region by “Center Credit Bank” and European Bank of reconstruction and development. The program includes two components: micro-credits and small credits. The program is specific, because interest rates of small credits are lower than on micro-credits and make up 18-20% per annum in US dollars. “Tengizchevroil” JV (TCO) opened RoK procurement department in Atyrau in order to expand collaboration with local companies. The work on creation of the Center on training of workers of highly demanded specialties with rewarding of certificates of international standard in Atyrau city is conducted nowadays. |
