DREAMWALKER'S PUBLISHED POEM
The following poem was written by me and dealt with the images of how I felt at certain time in my life. It may not appeal to everyones taste, but that's alright poetry never does. This poem is supposedly published by the National Library of Poetry in a book entitled AFTER THE FIRST SNOWFALL. If anyone has knowledge of this book or organization, I would appreciate it. THE LAST GIFT
Like the intertwining bands
Of silver, bronze, and gold
My body, mind and soul
All are yours to hold
Around your neck
And from each ear
Three hearts of amber
Hold my hearts cheer
Like the bouquets of flowers
Beautiful and bright
Your fragrance in each breath
Brings soothing delight
In these trinkets
From me to thee
The most precious gift
Which God had given me
Honesty and love
In every word uttered
To keep doors and windows
From being shuttered
No more could I give
Than what was my own
The seeds of my imagination
Have all been sewn
With everything I gave
And everything received
My love and trust
Should have been believed
It was not enough
For in the end
No more were the presents
That I could send
I gave all I could
And you asked for more
There was nothing left
In my heart's store
Was it not enough
For you to see
That what you had
Was all of me
