ANGEL IN MY EYES
Another mistake I have made. For in my course God had laid. Another woman, beautiful and bright, Whose eyes radiate with brilliant light. I was afraid to commit. Even though I knew I was hit. In the heart straight and narrow, By cupids golden arrow. I could have said it sooner But, I'm always a late bloomer. Doing things on time, right? Not in this mans line of sight! If only I was smart, Perhaps I could be part Of two meant to be. Well, at least we'd see. I'd run my fingers through her hair. Let nothing in the world cause me despair. I'd whisper in her ear, Words whose meanings are clear. I look into the night And find without fright, That the stars in the skies Shine right in her eyes. Were Venus or Helen in my sight, I would not take flight. For none could compel me, From her spell to break free. Her beauty is rare And none can compare From inside her it comes And overflowing it runs.
Untitled #4
A beautiful woman have I met Into her eyes I am afraid to look A haunt from love past, I cannot forget Away from me, my heart she took To attain new loves favour I must first regain myself to me Once renewed, her eyes I will savour For then my soul will be free To soar again through all there is to enjoy High on a cloud my heart will fly Like that of a child with a new toy My heart and me shall ne'er again say good-bye!
Untitled #5
I give to you all my love Which unfortunately I have not been able to prove In your hands I have lain my heart My only wish; it not be torn apart In your eyes I spied my soul And you love became my foremost goal Though I find it much too difficult to refrain Dearest, please know this to be true I know now that I can love no one but you
