EYES
Eyes are the windows of our souls,
They tell our true intentions.
As false words from our lips roll,
Our eyes betray their inventions.
Our heart may need a different story,
That our eyes cannot tell.
Our heart bleeds from lies false glory,
And our eyes become the well.
To save ourselves from hurt
Our eyes bleed forth the pain.
The beauty from within them spurts
Forth the heart's cold rain.
If we could be true to ourselves,
Our eyes would not turn dark.
For lies within our souls delve
And kills the eyes beautiful spark.
LIES
We lie to ourselves
To ensure our own good will
Yet others see right through us
We hate ourselves for our fabrications
And yet we refuse to tell the truth
The pain it brings others
Reigns in us ten times over
We must learn that our falsehoods
Are never believed
When we ourselves know else-wise
Our lips can utter words
Yet our eyes tell all
Let us be true to ourselves
And lie not to others
So that we can rest easy
With the trust meant to be
