Timesplitters is the only first person shooter available at launch, after Unreal Tournament was pushed back to Feb 2001. However I think this will more than satisfy our shooting needs.
The graphics of this title are stunning and and unlike anything ever seen before. This type of game is an old favourite and usually seen on PCs but now there is a great one for us console junkies. Timesplitters will have even the hardest PC goons drooling and green with envy. One definate benefit from having a shooter on a console is the fact that there will be no slow down cue to Windows taking up valuble RAM.
The game has over 60 playable characters, 18 deathmatch arenas ( + level editor ) and spans from 1935-2035.
STORY MODE MULTIPLAYER- capture the "bag" escort assassin last stand knockout match flag tag ( there may be more but this is all I know off )
One major feature of Timesplitters is it's Map editor. Something like this has never been seen on a console before, well except for the odd track editor like in Revolt. However this is far better than that I assure you, it is very easy to create a playable level in minutes. All you have to do is place set blocks however you like and add the brilliant lighting effects and textures. Also you choose where to place start points for players, medikit positions and other pick ups (i.e. weapons). Don't let the idea of set blocks put you off, this does not hinder your freedom. The editor looks to be anything but restricting, in fact the possibilites may well be endless.
Forget the days of PC editing that seemed to take more effort than it's worth to create one room, long live idiot proof console editing. Yet another score for console.
