The Fontana di Trevi depicts Neptune,  god of the sea, flanked by two Triton figures—one struggling to subdue a seahorse,
one having conquered it. In mythology, the merman Triton was the son of  Neptune and his sea-goddess wife.


Greek Literature has existed from the 8th century BC and is still extant even to the present day. This literature developed as a national expression with little outside influence until 4th to 1st century BC and it had a formative effect upon all succeeding European literature. 




  


Greek Mythology is constituted by the beliefs and ritual observances of the ancient Greeks, who became the first western civilization about 2000 BC. It consists mainly of diverse stories and legends about a variety of gods. It's predominance in English Literature is undeniable.
 
 
Greek Philosophy embodies the philosophical concepts developed by the Greeks. Greek philosophy formed the basis of all later philosophical speculation in the Western world. Many of the moral ideas of pagan Greek philosophers have been incorporated into Christian moral doctrine. The political ideas set forth by Greek thinkers influenced political leaders as different as members of the U.S Constitution.
