Engine specifications and modifications

The GT is driven by a 1331cc, 4-cylinder, 16 valve, turbo-charged engine. Factory power is 150hp, the stock boost setting is 7.5 psi. Power is delived to the ground by a 5-speed manual transmission and front differential.

Whats under the bonnet of a 1300 turbo

Basic modifications include a JR pod air filter with heat shield on custom pipping, 2.25 inch free-flowing exhaust with 3 inch stainless steel muffler, NGK performance sparks aswell as a complete turbo overhaul. Using premium 98 the GT now boosts at 11 psi, reaching maximum boost a lot quicker with the free-flowing exhaust system.

On the outside the starlet rides on 15" Sprint Hart Alloys wrapped with 195/50 Toyo's. TRD shocks and springs create a very firm, but stable ride. The front grill and bumper have received the meshing treatment, while the pint sized rear factory spoiler was replaced with a Trust rear wing. Bronze mirror tints finish off the necessary look.

Moving inside, a 12" Momo corse steering wheel, Razo turbo timer, Sparco pedals and gear knob can be found and all the factory striped interior has been replaced with black trim. An Autometer boost gauge lives on the A-piller, enclosed in a Autometer chrome cup.

Sound System

No room for passengers

The sound system includes a Clarion CD head unit, Earthquake PA-4050c amplifier, Infinity 6" by 9" 3-way speakers, 2 15" Cerwin-Vega Subwoofers, all hooked up with Stinger cabling and accessories.

Future Plans

Adding a hybrid turbo on a custom manifold, front mount maybe a VR4 or RX-7 intercooler, Turbosmart Type II blow-off valve, an extra injector or two and run around 14 psi boost. That should do it.
