GALLAGHER, Ross -  1982-85.  54 games, 115 goals.  {2nds - 1 game, 0 goals}.  Recruited  from Footscray where he played 1975-76 and 1981 (11 games, 4 goals).   Ross was runner-up for the Liston Trophy in 1984 and 1985.  Ross  represented the VFA in a game against the VAFA in 1984, and represented the  VFA in 1985.  Played in Sandringham's 1985 Premiership side.

GALVIN, Gary  - 1979.  8 games, 2 goals.  {2nds - 11 games, 6 goals}.  Gary played  in  the 1979      Reserves Premiership side.

GAMBETTA, Cyril - 1932.  18 games, 19 goals.   He played for the VFA side Hawthorn before joining St.Kilda where he played 1922-31 (129 games, 75 goals).  At first he was a forward, but became one of St.Kilda's greatest ever centre half  backs.  His strength was his marking at  which he showed flawless judgement;  he twice earned state guernseys.

GLEESON, Kevin  -  1959-66.    89 games, 98 goals.   {2nds - 33 games, 24 goals}.  A  rover recruited from Black Rock.  A player who really shone when conditions were bad or the going was tough.  He played in Sandringham's 1960 Grand Final side, their 1961 Reserves Premiership side, their Premiership side in 1962 and their Grand Final side in 1963.  Kevin was captain of the Reserves in 1965 and 1966, and he won the Reserves Best and Fairest in both  years.   Selected to play in a VFA Reserves combined side to play against a combined Mountain District team at Monbulk.    Later played for Frankston.

GOROZIDIS, Con  -  1985-88.  26 games, 60 goals.  {2nds - 20 games, 37 goals}.   He originally played for Caulfield Thirds and Seniors.  Played with St.Kilda (1980-82, 29  games, 64 goals) and Footscray (1983, 5 games , 10 goals).  A player dubbed the "Golden Greek", he had  tremendous skills and flair.  Chunky and  powerful, he was not really big enough for a key forward post, and not quick enough for a flank.  He played for Caulfield at the age of 16.  Could have been a star if he had been dedicated.  Con played in Sandringham's 1985 Premiership side.  He kicked 10 goals v. Geelong West in 1986.

GOROZIDIS, George  -  1991-1994.  30 games, 122 goals.  {2nds - 18 games, 76 goals}.  Recruited from Melbourne Thirds in 1991.  He played only one game in the Reserves (kicking 7 goals) before being recalled to Melbourne.  He rejoined Sandringham in 1992; he kicked 12 goals v. Preston, and 11 goals v. Frankston in the Reserves before getting a game in the Firsts.  He played in Sandringham's 1992 Premiership side.  In 1993, following injury and lack of form, he played in the Reserves Premiership. He played in the 1994 Premiership side, and was leading goal kicker -  he kicked 13 goals v. Coburg  in the  Seniors.  Transferred to Clayton at start of 1995 season.

GOUEY, Harold -  1934-38.  {2nds - 1 game, ? goals}.  In 1934 represented the VFA Seconds in the Hartley Shield Series, and the Challenge Match against the VFL Seconds.

GRAMBEAU, Raymond William (Mick)  - 1948-51, 1960.  67 games, 42 goals.  {2nds - 7 games, 18 goals}.  Recruited from Black Rock FC.   Won Sandringham's Best and Fairest in 1950.  He represented the VFA in  the 1950 Carnival in Brisbane, and also represented the VFA in the 1951 side which defeated Tasmania (kicking 1 goal).  Cleared to  North Melbourne in 1952,  where he played 1952-55, for 56 games, and 53 goals.  He was a very tough follower who was a man of  few words and completely ruthless.  In 1956, after a heated dispute with North Melbourne, he tried unsuccessfully to transfer to St.Kilda.  He then went to Ganmain (NSW) for two years receiving a record coaching fee of  £40  a week.  At the end of his appointment there, he put in two successful seasons at Minyip (1958-59).  Returned to Sandringham in 1960.

GRAMBEAU, Russell -  1946-48.  62 games, 3 goals.  {2nds - 3 games, 0 goals}.  Winger.  Black Rock boy who played  junior football with the local Colts team.  Did not play football in 1945.  Played in the 1946 Premiership side, and the 1947 Grand Final side.   Cleared to Prahran in 1950, and played in Prahran's 1951 Premiership side.

GRANGER, Ernest L. (Jock)  -  1957-67.  113 games, 24 goals.  {2nds - 57 games, 19 goals}.  Rover and half forward flank.  Recruited from ESBC.  Later a dashing back pocket  with superb judgement and kicking ability.  Jock was cleared to  Black Rock in 1960.  He played in
Sandringham's 1961 Reserves Premiership; their 1962 Senior Premiership side, and the 1963 Grand Final side.  He was Captain Coach of the Reserves in 1967; coached the them in 1968, 1970, 1972 to 1974.

GRANT, Larry  -  1971-74.  11 games, 9 goals.  {2nds - 15 games, 17 goals; 3rds - 25 games, 0 goals}.  He won the Best and Fairest for the Thirds in 1971.  Played in the VFA Thirds South Combine team in 1971.  He later played for Mordialloc.
