Dunedin is located in the South island of New Zealand and is the world's Southernmost University city.

Over the years, Dunedin City has gained a well-deserved reputation for its unique and bohemian creative output. The unusual 'Dunedin Sound' music made a strong international impact in the 1980s and this level of creativity continues today in music, film and, most notably, in a number of remarkable fashion designers.

These Dunedin based designers have recently gained increased international attention. Particularly Margi Robertson of Nom D, Nicholas Blanchet, Tanya Carlson of Carlson and Richard Moore of Cirrus and Dot Com.
