My dear Will - Yours of 10 Aug rec'd, I have tried very hard to not bank too much on Frank coming with you
this summer, but if he can't come without too great
sacrifice I hope to be seasonable about it. (But that
does not let you out). Am surely glad you could escape from the city for a time. The baby's picture is so
darling.
How I'd love to gather th elittle dear up in my arns. Seems to me he resembles Floyd. Can your
grape juice just as you would any fruit. Don't let it wait but can it
hot just as soon as possible. It is a wonderfully
refreshing drink. Tessie I take the grapes from the ?? wash and place them in a preserving kettle. Put
in
water until you can just see it then cook strain and can. Have cooled off some and I have a bit more. In
a hurry. Auntie?? Sat AM. I did not get my card mailed earlier, so now I can tell you that cousin Lillian Baldwin Caldwall called up this PM and told Clara that she is coming out to visit us. Will arrive Sat Aug 23. This was when you I hoped would meet in Chicago. She is Uncle William Balwins daughter. We have had another hot spell, but not quite so hot today. I hope Auntie can greet Lillian here and I think she may as she is planning to come when it is cooler. The vineyard is not so well laden with fruit as at some years. I'd love to see a typical old ?? orchard. Hope you have lots of apples. Eat a fat Jonathan or Spelzleberg for me. Now you are aware that you can meet our cousin without treadling all over Chi. Will's brother and family of Topeka Kas will come for a brief visit next week. You're just right Clara sure is happening around early (?), Love Auntie Envelop address to Mr and Mrs Will F Baldwin Westbury LI NY From Mrs AC Cripps Alboin, Iowa Postmark Albion Iowa Aug 16 1930 |
