Dan-E-O.. Anyone that knows anything about Canadian Hip Hop should know who Dan-e-o is. On June, 10 1977 a young man with a passion for Hip Hop was born. He then hit us hard with his first single titles "Dear Hip Hop" which appeard on the Beat Factory's Rap Essentials Album... "dear Hip Hop, i love you till i die/todays the grace of your embrace i will try / my mission is to utilize my skills on the mic / to rid you of the losers, abusers and stereotypes".. Dan-e-o hit us hard with some well written and spoken lyrics that i know will be sung in my mind for years to come. The combination of his ill flow and well placed beat went perfectly together to get our heads boppin...March 24th 1998. Monolith is born. The ill single titled "At the top" hits our radio stations and a Canadian Anthem is born..Now here's whats next, February 15 2000, Dan-e-o's debut Album "The Book OF Daniel" is released.. Most of you might have heard songs from this album such as "Corrida De Toros" and "Margerine" 2 of the many stand out tracks on this album.. For anyone that doesn't have this album i suggest you go out and get it.. I had the pleasure of speaking with Dan-e-o earlier this morning (July 4th)and i must say, he's a real stand up guy.. Real easy to talk to. He loves what he does and he respects his fans. I think it's about time people start to support Canadian hip hop, it's not all just about Choclair and Maestro anymore. And if it is, they better move outta the way, Cause Dan-e-o's gonna rush the industry. So mad love goes out to the entire Monlith family. And to Dan-e-o, I'mma see you "at the top"..
