Night

Sometimes I could cry from sheer wonder
Looking down at your face,
At the man-child God gave into my keeping.
How can I, how can I ever be good enough to you?
When you sleep, your face is deep and peaceful.
I wish I could fathom the dreams
That must now be delighting you,
Your face is so radiant in slumber.
