Phenomenal Women Of The Web

Spring

These dandelions
Bursting from the earth,
Golden blooms reaching the sun,
Are no more excited than I
At the advent of spring.

Fields of cheery waving daisies,
Rows of sweetly nodding tulips
Are no more joyous than I
At the cloudless blue sky.

Like the prim violets,
My shyness keeps me close to earth,
But my heart is caught up
In the dance of the whole world
In honor of the maiden Spring.
Skirts flying, she has shooed away
Grim Winter
And slammed the door,
Turning with delighted bound to her domain.

Busy now with melting Winter's chill,
She is painting the trees green
Drawing the mountains from their mists
Tweaking each blade of grass
Till it salutes, proud of its mirthful Queen.
