I am so tired
My eyes won't focus.
I am so tired
My mind won't focus.
Yesterday,
    the snowstorm reached out with four inches of cold
    to claw us. We trudged from the wounded Pontiac
    roadside to the dubious comfort of a smoky used-car lot
    office. Two hours and a well-meaning sheriff later, we
    scrambled from the car's chilled embrace and let our
    toes burn with blood's return in the company of a social
    tow-truck driver. Stress and cramps and lingering sickness
    dogged my footsteps. At midnight insomnia smiled its sharp grin.
I am so tired
My mind won't focus.
I am so tired
My life won't focus.
