Is it expensive to buy specialty coffee? Not at all! Specialty coffees are an affordable luxury.  You can treat yourself every day. For example: One pound of fresh roasted coffee beans yields about 40 cups of coffee.  At a cost of only $10.00 per pound, your cup of coffee costs about 25¢. By comparison, a 39-oz. can of  ground coffee purchased at the supermarket costs about 24.6¢ per cup.

Which coffee should I try first?
You might want to try one coffee from each of the world's great growing regions (Central & South America, Africa, Arabia, andv Indonesia), and then perhaps experiment with Rare and Estate coffees. The best advice of all is to buy from an informed specialty coffee retailer.  Our knowledge will add greatly to your enjoyment!

How did coffee get it start?
Some authorities believe that cultivation of coffee began across the bay from Ethiopia in Yemen, beginning in the sixth century A.D. Nearly a thousand years later the Dutch introduced coffee to Java and other islands of Indonesia. From there, coffee made its way around the world, journeying to the New World in the beginning of the 17th. century.  Have a cup of java, and taste the world!
