Giants book place in next round

Justin Phoenix

Bears 72 - 74 Giants
Justin Phoenix impressed on his debut for the Giants as he hit 28 points to help them succeed 74-72 against the Brighton Bears. The Bears who currently lie at the bottom of the southern conference lost in a very tight game against the BBL Champions, who the Bears played in a pre-season tournament in Bracknell where the Bears came out on top winning by 10 points.

This time the Giants had a new signing, Justin Phoenix who's major role was to stand in for the injured Martin Gottfried, who will probably be out of action for up to 3 weeks. Justin has a huge chance now to prove himself, for a place in the Giants starting lineup.

Two late free throws from Julius Joseph sealed the win for the Giants after the Bears had threatened an upset posting a late 9-4 tear to take the lead 67-66. The Giants however led by debutant Justin Phoenix's 28 points just scraped home thanks to Joseph's coolness from the charity strike.
