Giants 63 - 71 Lions
BBL Champions, Manchester Giants lost
their third straight home game of the 2000/01 season, at the hands of Nigel Lloyd's Milton
Keynes Lions.
Giants, who still have injuries with
point guard, Brian Earl, and Martin Gottfried, came out slow once again going behind by an
8-2 run by the Lions. Giants staged a good comeback though to finish the first quarter
21-20 behind.
Giants then finished the half, 38-33 up,
thanks to a magnificent fade-away 3 pointer from new man, Wayman Strickland who was very
impressive all night.

Giants
carried forward that lead to finish the third quarter 51-44 ahead. Lions came out in the final quarter to also fight
back and then outscored the Giants 21-12 to seal the victory.
Brendan Graves must get a mention though,
for his unbelievable easy lay-in miss, to which all the Giants fans couldn't believe. His
defensive work however was totally the opposite and was mighty impressive, rejecting quite
a number of shots.
Tony Holley collected MVP for the Giants
by continuing his run of form to score 14 points.
