Giants 83 - 64 Lions
Manchester Giants finished of the
group stages of the uni-ball trophy with a flourish, defeating the Milton Keynes Lions
83-64 at the MEN arena on Boxing Day.
A 12-2 burst in the second quarter turned
a five-point deficit into a five-point lead at 32-27 and they steadily built on that
advantage in the second half. 11 unanswered points in the third quarter helped them to a
16-point lead, heading into the final period, which proved too big a gap for the Lions to
claw back.

Earl was the Giants best scorer with 17 points, although the game's top marksman was Lions
player/coach, Nigel Lloyd, who bagged 18 points. Lions were already through to the next phase of the uni-ball
trophy and they finish the group stages with a 4-2 record, while Giants have a 3-3 record
and could still mathematically qualify as the best third placed team.
