Giants suffer set-back in Rose Bowl

Giants 57 - 78 Sharks
Manchester Giants have suffered their first defeat of the 2000/01 season at the hands of Sheffield at the MEN Arena.

Giants started poorly and slowly with their first 4 points coming from the line. They couldn't recover and Sharks finished the first quarter 23-10 to them.

The sharks continued to dominate but Giants fought back in the second quarter to reduce the sharks' lead to 9 points by the end.
Giants kept being punished by the 3 pointers from Sheffield, and couldn't bring themselves back when they were as many as 21 points down in the middle of the final quarter.

Giants had suffered set-backs, due to the injured Martin Gottfried, just departed, Antrick Klaiber, and the lack of bench players. 

However the Giants anounced some good news tonight about the arrival of two American players comeing next week to make their debuts against the Birmingham Bullets on the 18th October.
