Reese replaces Strickland

Andre Alleyne will finally have a full roster against Derby

MANCHESTER Giants' newest signing followed in the footsteps of Michael Jordan and that's why coach Andre Alleyne is expecting big things from his latest American recruit.

New Yorker Brian Reese arrived today from the 'Big Apple' and will make his British debut against Derby Storm at the MEN Arena Thursday night (23 Nov).

p>''Brian went to the same College as Michael Jordan - North Carolina - and all the usual comparisons have been made,'' explains Giants general manager Nick Montgomery.

Reese, 29, has played a number of seasons in the Far East, including Taiwan, after finishing his College career. He spent four years at North Carolina scoring over 1000 points.

"And while he arrives as an unknown quantity to most, Reese is a friend of Giants star Justin Phoenix.

And Alleyne will hope it's third time lucky after both Wayman Strickland and Antrick Klaiber failed to settle after arriving with excellent CV's from the States.

''It will be the first time this season we've had our full roster of players,'' says Montgomery. ''And I'm confident that, now we've got everybody back, you'll see the real Giants.''
