The story of Iota Chapter is still one of intrigue and mystrey, for unlike most chapters who have been the only carries of their chapter name, the name Iota was initially designated for the undergraduate chapter at Syracuse Universtiy. The formation of Iota Chapter took place on March 28, 1910 and thus became the eighth chapter of the General Organization. Perhaps it was inevitable that this chpater would not progress in the bond. As early as 1912, Iota Chapter was declared inactive at the Fifth General Convention at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
