Command & Conquer: Covert Ops
How to get to and play the hidden dino missions
Yes, the rumors are true - there ARE a series of dinosaur missions hidden away in the Covert Ops expansion of C&C. They were put together by the design team as a spoof on Jurassic Park, and were shown to the company only a few days before Covert Ops shipped. As a result, they're a little buggy in spots (we've had everything - at times - from invisible dinosaurs to trouble loading missions), and the dinosaur graphics aren't as slick as might be expected, but as a change of pace from blasting Nod or slaughtering GDI, they're a heck of a lot of fun.
To get to the dino missions, you have to start C&C from the Covert Ops expansion disk, and you have to run it from DOS. From within the C&C directory, type:
c&c funpark
(Make sure theres a space between C&C and funpark).
This will start up C&C in dinosaur mode. To play the dino missions, simply start a new game. You still choose to play GDI or Nod, but there is no real difference between the two in this case - you'll get briefed by Kane no matter which side you choose, an more importantly, you'll get to use both sides' units.
There are five dinosaur missions, and unlike the other missions in Covert Ops, you have to play them sequentially - no picking and choosing allowed. They're much, much easier than the ordinary missions, and all you have to do to win the first four is wipe out all the dinosaurs on the map. In the fifth mission, you are the dinosaurs. Here, all you have to do is wipe out the humans. :)
For those of you who are curious, there are four kinds of
dinos: Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Velociraptor (of Jurassic
Park fame) and of course, T. Rex. All of them take as much
damage as an armored vehicle, and can dish out quite a bit
in return. Of all the terrible lizards, only Velociraptor is
a real problem - he's quite fast and does an absurd amount
of damage, even to vehicles. The best way to deal with him
(and all the other dinos as well) is with aircraft. Lacking
aircraft, recon bikes are a good bet, although you'll need
some room to maneuver them. Remember: dinos are your
friends.... until they get close enough to bite you....
Good hunting and good luck! (Information from Cheat Machine)
