SO WHAT'S UP!?
Hello there, it's been very busy week here at Mad Dog, things very quiet Sunday for some reason, gave me chance for a well deserved chill out. In brief things went somthing like this...........
The launch of the Studios own Independant record label 'Mad Dog Music', seems to be creating quite a stir, with more bands asking us to release their CD's , more details of this can be found on the 'sounds' page. We are not charging bands to be on this label, were not promising massive sales or that we're going to make anyone a millionare & we are not pretending to be something that we're not.
These are early days but as ever the intention is to develope the Label in to some thing far bigger that carries some weight.
We would like to bring to your attention, a new magazine coming out this summer called U.H.M, strictly featuring news, reviews, info, & interviews for & about unsigned bands.
If you would like your band to be considered for a feature , send the following to U.H.M , your address, a demo of your material, band shot, band info & a contact phone number, not mobile, to :
UHM
P.O Box 94,
Ellesmere Port,
CH66 1WB.
If you want your items returning remember to include a stamped, addressed, padded envelope.
SACCULUS, back in for a couple of serious sessions to ready themselves for a gig at the Slaughter House in Liverpool , topping the bill with IGNORANUS in support.
As to be expected the band played a blistering set in their usual ferocious style to an extremely hungry & enthusiastic audience.
More gigs are looming on the horrizon with dates in London & Manchester being mentioned & a possible feature in 'ROCKSOUND' magazine.
The band have already been interviewd & photographed for a feature in the first issue of U.H.M.
Not surprisingly the debut CD continues to sell like wild fire. Check it out on the 'Sounds' page.
DS, resume their regular sessions, songs are now falling into shape & are sounding pretty damn strong. The band are still looking for a permenant bass player.
'We are working to a plan & taking our time, we're not trying to conquer the world, we just wanna rock like fuck & have a blast, Andy would be ideal for the band'.
Nuff said, if you like the WILDHEARTS & that type of thing you'll probably like DS.
THE DAWES, nice play on words, an excellent bluesy type band playing some truly nice stuff.
Still hard at work on a set for summer gigs.
ROPE, punk popsters have had their CD 'Bird Song' released through 'Boss Tuneage', the CD has been reviewed in the latest edition of 'KERRANG' where it recieved 'KKK'.......by the way that means that it's shit hot!!
You can download a clip of ROPE's stuff or buy the CD on the 'Sounds' page.
TEMPLETON PECK, recent new comers to Mad Dog, a truly quality band, the vocalist Jai has an amazing voice adding more strength to the sound of this lively 3 piece.
The band are working hard towards a showcase in Leeds for a management company in June.
ALI TODD, Blues veteran, was in session early Thursday evening prior to appearing live at a jam night in either Hollywell or Mold.......decisions, decisions.
THROAT HORSE, a blast from the past, this once well known local rock band are fast returning to full strength playing some old classics & have now found a bass player after attempts to get the original bass player back in to the band failed & are continuing to build their set for some summer gigs.
Having said this he failed to show this week, never mind......what is it with bass players?
D-VOID, powerfull metal band, were back on site in full force, smashing down some very dark & heavy stuff, new songs are being worked on at the moment, some sketchy news concerning some live dates, as & when these are confirmed we'll post them in the gig guide.
PRIORITY SCOOPS, continue their sessions with their now well established permanent drummer.
Sessions so far see this hard working band sounding stronger than ever & more aero dynamic thanks to Rich's new hair cut. As & when the band has any gigs coming up, we'll let you know.
LAZARUS, quite a big feet for this band to actually make it into the Studio this week after Mark the drummer suffer sun stroke resulting in his tootsies swelling up to unhuman proportions, 'if anyone is in posession of a pair of size 26 trainers we would be ve
Due to the increase in content on this page, the gig guide is now on a separate page.
Although there is alot of rock & metal stuff on the sounds page, I would like to stress the following-
We promote all styles of music, this also applies to stuff we release through the Studios label.
As long as it's cool we'll put it out there.
Please by all means sign our new guest book , please do not use it to book or inquire about any of the Studios services or as a way of contacting the Studio in general, there are plenty of E-mail links on the site, use these to contact the Studio.
Anyone sneaking in trade ads without contacting the Studio will have their entry deleted - we do not support cowboy behaviour or scams!!!
Gary from the' MOOSE' fanzine can be E-mailed as follows, [email protected]., the latest edition is out & again it's free.
See ya next week...........That's all folks!
