Dreamers come through the darkness in swirls of colorful blends,
With their boundless visions, upon us they descend.
Would there ever have been a pot of gold or leprechauns to guard them true?
Would children have feared the wicked witch as she cackled and stirred her brew?
Winged wonder, "Pegasus", and the unicorns, fairies, trolls and elves,
Would never have graced the pages of the storybooks that line our shelves.
Perhaps the greatest thing we would have lost is the concept of passionate love,
The connection of a gentle kiss with the flight of turtle doves,
Take heart, oh friend, take heart...
Weavers of dreams still live!
With their magic wands and mystical spells, new worlds they still can give.
Purple dinosaurs can dance a waltz as the Stars have noble Wars.
"Enterprising" captains still engage the unknown and uncharted course.
"Let's see what's out there," they say.
"Lord of the Dance" tells us a fairytale with the regimental clicks of heels,
Broadway clouds us with fantasy; film entwines us within the surreal.
Did you ever know that a cat could sing or talk... NO? Nor did I!
But the dreamers bring these things to life and we never question why.
Touch me with your words, my poet... melt away my soul.
Make me feel the charms of youth as I feel myself grow old.
Please share with me emotional bliss and relieve pains I cannot bare.
Express through words what I cannot... show me how to care.
Without the ones that dream it seems we would have no realities to live.
So next time you hear someone say about a child "He daydreams to much!"
This argument is one to give -
That car you drive, the song you sing, the meal you so enjoy,
Carnivals and fashion trends, that transforming ,morphing toy,
All of them are daydreams that came into someone's mind.
So maybe we all should daydream more, so solutions we can find.
There's a lot of things that need fixing and only the dreams can see the cures....
