Webcast audiences look, listen, and buy
The idea of online advertising is on the rise. People are paying attention to the other things that are available on the webcast sites not just the webcasts themselves. There is a high response rate to things relating to buying advertised products over the web. The study also revealed that Internet radio companies were promoting webcasting sites on their sites.
I was surprised to hear of such a response to this new type of media. It is a great way to essentially use the web like a TV, but still have the ability to surf. I was surprised to learn of such a high rate of web users using and utilizing the features offered during a webcast. Some people listen to music and watch web content more than they use radios or TVs.
I think it will open up the avenue of not needing to have a cable provider or any program provider if you can watch those programs on the net. It will also allow users the ability to view past sporting events completely not just highlights
The idea of webcasting will revolutionize the idea of TV. It will allow us to view anything we want whenever we want to. It may even replace the TV altogether but to use such a technology has to require and extreme amount of resources once a large amount of views start to utilize the technology.
