Hey guys what is up. This is our band and this is my story...
The day i accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior was Monday,
July 12, 1999. On July 10 my youth group and i went down to Panama City,
Florida, for a retreat. Well to cut to the chase...Sunday night we had a
speaker named Andy Neely, who spoke every night that week. When I walked
into the room where he was going to be speaking, I was going to just have
fun. That night he spoke and touched my heart. After that night I really
did not know what to do. So I went to my friend Alex (the singer in our
band) and asked him what to do; he had no clue what I should do or tell me
(no offence Alex). After Alex, I went to an older friend Dusty and asked
him what i should do. He told me four simple words, "just pray about it."
Then I went to our evening service monday night, Andy spoke again. that
night he touched my heart again. When we had the invitation that night, we
sang a song called "You are My King." When we started to sing, I sat down
in my seat and prayed about what I should do. Well, I walked up front and
prayed with my Bible study leader (Brent). I asked him to pray with me
because I wanted God in my life right then and there. As we were praying, I
felt a strong hand on my shoulder. Right when that person put his hand on
my shoulder, I knew it was God, and I started to cry. I knew then that God
will always be there for me and that he will always love me. And that is
just awesome. Well I gotta thank some peoples. First i want to give big ups to the man upstairs who without him we would not be here. Secondly my parents and family for supporting me in what ever I do. I want to thank that band...Chris for your willingness to take a leadership role. Ben thanks for being the "music man" and helping us get better. Alex thanks for being on time that one time...no really thanks for all the advice that you give me and everyone else. Other peoples Keith, Daniel, Jake, Mike, and Ron. Thanks for all the people who have helped us in one way or another. Thank you all and God bless. |
