My latest project involved functioning as a Senior Network Security Specialist, within Windows NT 4.0, and Novel 4.1 environment. I was responsible for Users authentication with RADIUS, SecurID, X.509 digital certificates, or local passwords. Ineroperates with Entrust and VeriSign Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Certificate authorities and with LDAP directories to store X.509 digital certificates and certificate revocation list (CRLs) for VPNs installed, configured and maintained VPN network and server security policies. Many responsibilities included: 1)Installation of gateways, firewalls, and security management servers. a)Configuring and activating gateways, firewalls and making sure that the security management server is communicating properly to the gateways and firewalls. b)Creating all necessary security zones and assigning the zones to specific interfaces on the gateway. c)Creating zone administrators for the zones and setting up their login to use the security management server. d)Adding new firewalls, zones, and administrators when required. e)Defining alarms to notify an administrator when specific events occur. f)Reviewing reports and audit logs that monitor traffic passing through the gateway and firewall. 2)Server implementation. a)Installation of servers (Windows NT v 4.0, SQL v 7.0, Lucent Security Management Server 4.0, Netscape Enterprise Server). 3)Provided network security policy demonstrations and conference workshop. 4)Maintain software. a)Installation of new software (Win 95 & 98, MS Office 97, Windows NT, Lotus Notes, MS Outlook, Lucent IP Sec Client 2.0) b)Updating of old software. c)Configuration of devices. 5)Performed system backups. 6)Monitored network performance.
