How important is proper formatting? I can't afford scriptwriting software.
Scriptwriting software isn't mandatory, but it certainly makes you look like you are serious about the business and are professional. You can format your computer with the right settings and get close, but once you use scriptwriting software, you'll never go back. It just makes everything so easy and automatic. If you are serious about being a scriptwriter, sooner or later you will want to invest in the software.
