GRADUATE STUDENT (PhD)

B.Eng. (McMaster University)
M.Eng. (McMaster University)

Cameron Churchill was born in the town of Palmerston (population 2,300), located in the South Central area of the province of Ontario, Canada. Cameron made the transition from rural dweller to the big city of Hamilton in 1990 when he entered the Civil Engineering program at McMaster University. He encountered many new things in the city, some good and some bad. Things such as mass transit, houses with no yards, traffic lights, poor air quality and fast food restaurants. Adjusting to these changes was not easy, and in the back of his mind he felt that there must be a way to make cities more liveable. It was this conviction and the encouragement of Dr. Baetz which convinced Cameron to obtain a Master of Engineering degree and then begin work on a Ph.D. in sustainable community design.
