When is it?

This story takes place after the future story of issues #182 - 187. Continuity scmontinuity The events of this story take place in the year after the Space Pirates saga, after the Quintessons trashed Autobot City on Earth. From the appearance of the City, I would say not that long after the attack, but from the question of Ultra Magnus, asking Kup if he remembers what happened to the planet of Quintesson, I'm not so sure. One thing to note is that the casualties of the attack did not include any of the Terrorcons, and neither Red Alert, or even Blaster, who was hung up like a slab of meat on the city walls, were killed.
Please welcome... Aside from a couple of un-named Cybertronians on page one, no new faces are seen. I'm not sure if Spike and the very annoying-looking Daniel have been seen before this point, other than in the movie. Bloopers The only thing really wrong with this issue is on a few pages the colouring has gone horribly wrong - check out page10, where the colours are about a third of a centimetre out of place. I would also question Hun-grr's transformationon page five, as it looks like he does a back-flip to change to his robot-mode, when I would expect he just stands up on his two heads. Oh, and another thing - the source of the disturbance is 1989? I thought the source would be the instant Galvatron and his henchmen arrived on twentieth century Earth would be the source - but then, the writers had to stick to the year they were writing in. Musings of a Transformer comic reading disciple How nice, the planet of Quintesson didn't just blow up for the sake of resembling the cartoon. I'd have a stab at the cause of the space-time rift, but I'd probably end up with a headache. Oh, what the hell - I'll just pick some holes in it; such as why does Cyclonus dying before he is created have an effect upon the rift? Surely the simple fact is that every single time-jump would cause the ripples that destabilize time; perhaps causing the events of the movie to not take place, thus resulting in Galvatron, Scourge, Cylonus and Rodimus not being created. Now, that would cause universal badness.

I'd like to question just what the Autobots thought they were doing this issue - surely if they went back in time and solved the problems none of the aforementioned badness would have taken place, so there would have been no need to attack Soundwave's energy leech. And wjy did the Autobots leave the time-portal open? Were they hoping that the local 'cons would come by to join them in 1989 or something? Crazy-damn fools.
