Here are some StarCraft maps for you to download.
I made them using the StarCraft Map Editor. I've spent many hours balancing the map so
that each starting location has an equal vantage point. There are two versions of the map;
version 1.01 is a melee/ffa map while version 1.02 is designed with map settings. The main
features are outlined below:
| Map Size: 128x128 |
| Tile Set: Badlands |
| Maximum Number of Players: 4 |
NGE Strategic
Map v1.01
| All base locations are equally balanced, no starting
location has an advantage over another |
| All StarCraft strategies can be effectively executed
on this map; these include: island drops, wall-in defense, quick land rushes, air rushes,
long games and an odd number of bases to encourage expansion strategies. |
| There is an extra resource point on a semi-island at
the centre of map. This gives incentive for players to expand, especially in long games
where usually it is a battle for resources. |

NGE Map
Settings v1.02
| Essentially same features as NGE Strategic Map v1.01
with the following extras: |
| Use Map Settings |
| Be the first to destroy 2 enemy buildings to
automatically claim the base at the centre of the map. |
| The claimable base includes missile turrets and a
map revealer to help you defend your new base and to recon enemy bases. These claimed
buildings and units are automatically activated when you claim the base. |

Creating StarCraft maps is easy when you use the SC
Campaign Editor included with the StarCraft or Browdwar CD. If you've ever used a scalar
painting, vector drawing or even a desktop publishing program you will be quickly
accustommed to the layout and functions of the SC Campaign Editor. If you have created a
good map and want to submit it here for others to download, please email it to me and I
will post it up.
