The Wrath of Khan - the first in a trilogy of linked films - and the only Star Trek film ever to be given a 15 rating in the UK. Released in 1982 and directed by Nicholas Meyer this film sees the return of Khan (played by Ricardo Montalban, a genetically improved human from around 1999 , who was imprisoned in cryogenic suspension until Kirk "freed" him in TOS. This film is more like it, the cast are beginning to grow and gel together with the links between Kirk, Spock and McCoy starting to be explored more deeply. This film also sees the death of Spock, some great quotes from Moby Dick and introduces Kirk's son David Marcus (played by Merritt Butrick - also appears as a different character in TNG). I'll give this one 7 out of 10.
