Title Trigun Genre Action/Western with a hell of a lot of comedy, and a dash of SciFi. Epps reviewed All sub/dub pref: Dubb (mostly for Vash's laugh) Background: It's some time in the future. A long time ago (from the story) Settlers from earth crash landed on the planet Gunsmoke: a lifeless husk of a desert planet. The only thing keeping people alive were machines that made oasis to sustain life. Most technology has been lost and only highly trained people can operate the machines, but no one understands them. Basically the technology level is about 19th century old west America. Story: Vash the Stampede is a wanted man. With a $$60,000,000,000 (that's double dollars) reward on his head, everyone is either after him or trying to get out of his way. He's wanted for the destruction of the city of July, and trouble just seems to follow him wherever he goes. Two ladies, Meryl and Millie, are hired by an insurance co. to find Vash and somehow contain his destruction. They wander around following leads to him but all they ever find is some blond, inane fool who acts like a goofy idiot (hillarity ensues), and always comes out on top. Plot grade 10 - The story flow is great, with the same kind of view into the past as Bebop, but even less confusing. Animation grade 8 - Kinda cartoonie but I think that matches the comedic nature of this series. Music grade 8 - Overall grade 9 - One of My fav's, this anime is a must see... I don't know why Cartoon Network hasn't picked it up yet... Not much they would need to edit out.
