This site is hosted by the growing Rivals.Net site, this means that a banner is put on the top of the site which makes the page look unproffesional, but ignoring that minor annoying ad for Rivals, the page under the banner looks good but it has the feel of a Template for the Rivals company.
On the day I checked the site no new items of news had been added for over 14 days, which does not bode well for the future of the site. The news items that are on the site are good they include previews of matches and a nostaligic look on the past players and their careers with good use of old newspaper cuttings and photographs.
The match reports are humourous and a good read, these can be found by going through the Fixtures page, each match report has a unique title such as 'Flukey Draw' etc.. as this is a fanzine the reports are biased towards the Chester team. A good idea is putting the preview of the match in the same table before the score and match report.
Not very good are the broken links or pages not completed or started such as the Brief History area of the site BUT the aerial photos of the Deva Stadium on the next page makes up for that, I believe all teams should have aerial photos of their grounds. The photos which the webmaster uses on this page is simply excellent.
Another good point is the use of the celebrity to bring interest for the club, Chester have various famous celebs and these are used to good effect on the site, especially of course the fetching Kelly Brock photo very nice indeed.
Other good ideas are the quiz of the week and Doodled Goals where the goals that Chester have scored are drawn in cartoon style strips which are very good.
