Chester City in the 21st Century with the-seals.co.uk Website Review

This site uses Java heavily, the navigation bar at the left-hand screen is fully JavaScript which means that the page does take a while to load but the wait is worthwhile, the opening page is good, with use of tables and scrolling text for the latest news. The bad thing about the opening page is that it does give the impression of been a commercial site trying to sell things to you.

We shall look at each link in the navigation frame one-by-one, the Accessories is a series of pages about the ins and outs of supporting a team such as Chester City interesting parts of this series are the Away Day Blues which focuses on the heavy defeats which Chester have suffered over the years, with short humorous reports on some of the games.

The rest of the Accessories are Text messages, Wallpapers etc.. which are not of good standard but are okay. The Car Boot Sale area of the site is not much to do with Chester City as a team so I shall pass over it.

A good idea is Chester-Citytv but as The Non-League Show on SkySports show all the goals for free a charge to watch the goals is a bad move.

The Great Games/Leeds United link needs to be looked at because it opens the page up in the left hand frame and not the main display, making the classic game report unreadable, the other reports are okay and the reports are good.

The major selling point of the site is the excellent photo archive which goes back to the 1974-75 season, each season has numerous pics of the matches and players of that season. The page is laid out well and could well be a website on its own right.

The site then goes down hill with broken links in the Programmes area and no updates of scores since 27 February 2001. The reports of the games are short but well written.
