STAR TREK
CONSONANCE

Q&A

Q. How did you come up with Consonance?
A. I had been working with ideas for a new ship since series 1 of Voyager and it has taken me 7 years to finally develope Consonance. I finalised the idea after playing Star Trek: Away team (which is where I got the idea for the Holomask).

Q. What did you need to consider when coming up with Consonance?
A. The concept, initially. Then the name of the ship (originally called Infinity, then Eternity) and the character names. All these things must be considered before anything else can be worked out. Character names have changed since the original idea. Some more than others. The Captain was originally called Joshua Adams, so only the first name has been changed. The first officer's original name was Fay Warner, so that has changed quite a lot to Telsia Walker.

Q. Why did the names change?
I have no idea! The ideas that made there way onto this site sounded best to me, I suppose! I hope the readers agree that the characters have interesting enough names!

Q. Is there any series that you tried to incorporate into Consonance?
A. The Next Generation (the fact that the ship wasn't trying to get home or fight in a war, just going on a different mission each episode), Voyager (Kathryn Janeway) and Enterprise (re-introducing the Suliban and engineering design).

Q. Can you tell us anything about upcoming stories?
A. I have no set ideas at the moment. Ideas just work their way into concepts. I write stories as they come into my head!

Q. I understand. Will you do another Q&A session with us again?
A. Of course!
