Why Me?
By Lindsey
"Why me?" I ask the darkest night,
"Why me?" I ask the brightest day.
When the weight of the world sits on your shoulders,
Your sense of safety's gone astray.
"Why me?" I ask the coldest breeze,
"Why me?" I ask the hottest sun.
When you're a child grown too fast,
There is no time for fun.
"Why me?" I ask my enemy,
"Why me?" I ask my closest friend.
When you're losing your own planet,
To friends your life you'll have to lend.
"Why me?" I ask the fate I have,
"Why me?" I ask the life I lead.
When you kill an innocent creature,
It makes the soul bleed.
"Why me?" I ask myself,
Out of all the people near.
It doesn't matter who, though,
I got a planet to save here.
