WRONGS DARKER THAN DEATH OR NIGHT:

A normal day begins on Deep Space Nine. Dax and Worf discuss having a party, and Quark hands Kira a bundle of Bajoran lilacs. The lilacs are to commemmorate Kira's deceased mother, who liked those kinds of flowers.

Late at night, Kira recieves a subspace signal from Dukat. He says he has been liberated by the truth, and he wants to spread the feeling to Kira. He reveals that a long time ago, him and her mother were lovers. She refuses to believe him, until he reveals information that a person close to her would know.

The next morning, Kira is angry, and dresses down Bashir and O'Brien for chatting while on duty, and demands that Odo pump up security measures for a small increase in petty thefts. Odo reveals that Bashir came to him, telling him about Kira's attitude. He talks her through it, and she is back on her way.

After careful consideration, Kira consults the Emissary, Captain Sisko, to use the Orb of Time. Sisko agrees, only if she agrees not to alter time. An agreement is reached, and Kira heads for Bajor.

When Kira uses the Orb of Time, she finds herself in a labour camp. She finds the Kira family, and when they are threatened by thieves, she gets into their good graces. But before anything can happen, a Bajoran and several Cardassian soldiers come in looking for "comfort women" for the soldiers who will be working aboard the new ore processing center, Terok Nor. Kira, Meru (Kira's mother) and several others are taken by force. The families are told that they will be treated much better now.

On Terok Nor, Meru and Kira are lead to their quarters, where they are met with food, clothing and everything they could ever wish for. However, Meru still misses her family. Kira comforts her.

Later that day, the new comfort women are briefed by the Bajoran officer who took them from the labour camp. Suddenly, the Prefect, Gul Dukat, walks in, and demands that the Bajoran officer not mistreat Meru. He notices her scar, and fixes it with a dermal regenerator. She is rendered speechless.

At a party later that night, Kira and Meru watch the Cardassians enjoy themselves, when Meru is dragged into a corner by a Cardassian, and raped. Kira is courted by a Legate. When Dukat comes in, he sees an officer raping Meru, he stops it right then and there. The Legate reveals that Meru has caught the Prefect's eye, and the whole thing was staged to capture her heart.

Later that night, Kira brings the Legate to her quarters, however, they are both drunk. The Legate wants to come in, but Kira turns him aside and tells him to go home and go to bed. When she gets into her quarters, she finds that Meru has now been invited to live in Dukat's quarters, and is now moving out. Kira acts violently when she wants to see her, and is beaten by the Cardassians, and dragged into the Bajoran sector.

Two weeks later, Kira is meeting with a Resistance member who wants her to join, and help by killing Dukat and his new mistress. The Resistance member reveals that Meru and Dukat have been on a vacation on Bajor. He says she is a collaborator, but Kira refuses to believe that she is. Suddenly, some Cardassian guards take her to Dukat's quarters.

In Dukat's quarters, she finds Meru, wearing decadent clothing, eating wonderful food, and the like. Meru seems oblivious to the pain being suffered by her people, while Kira seems to see nothing else. Kira accuses her of being a collaborator, and storms out. Later, Kira meets with the Resistance cell member, and agrees to his plan to kill Dukat and his mistress.

The next day, Kira returns to Dukat's quarters to apologize to Meru, and agree to be her companion. The Bajoran officer brings Dukat a computer chip, and then goes to find Kira new quarters. While everyone is off doing something, Kira plants the bomb in a nearby plant. However, once it is armed, Kira sees Meru watching a transmission from her father and the family. When Kira sees her crying, she realizes what a mistake she had made, and warns Dukat and Meru to get out. Just as they do, Kira disappears, and returns to her normal time.

When Kira returns to the station and tells Sisko all about her journey. She reveals that she couldn't kill her own mother, even though she was a collaborator.
