It has been 100 years since the establishment of the first colony in space. Tension between the Earth Federation and the Colonists grow as Earth tightens it's grip over the Colonies. With help from the Romfeller Organization who supplies Earth with the combat weapon known as the Mobile Suit, the colonists ca do little to stop the oppression. Behind the scenes however a secret organization known as OZ manipulates the movements of the involved. After Colony 195, in desperation to defeat the Federation 5 Mobile Suits are sent to earth. This is the beginning of "Operation Meteor"...

Colony Rebels and the country of Maganac

XXXG-01W WING GUNDAM
Wing Gundam is what's known as a variable form mobile suit. It has the ability to transform into a different form for faster movement over long distances. Wing in this case transforms into a plane like vehice which has the name "Bird Mode". It only has three weapons, 60mm head vulcan, beam saber and an extremely powerful Buster Rifle that seems to blast everything to pieces no matter how strong.

Wing Gundam was sent to earth on Operation Meteor, piloted by a 15 year old boy code named "Heero Yuy" of Colony L1. Not too much is known about Heero's past except that he was trained exstensively in guerilla tactics and all forms of special ops. The MS was too powerful, nothing matched it's power for a while. Even Tallgeese, then piloted by Zechs was having trouble defeating it. Wing was finally abandoned by Heero during an OZ/Pro-Trieze battle in which he planned to die. The abandoned MS was recovered by United Earth forces later. It met it's end when the space fortress Libra fired it's main cannon and Tallgeese II, which missed on account of Lady Une who used Wing to push Tallgeese II away and shield the MS.

XXXG-01D GUNDAM DEATHSCYTHE
Gundam Deathscythe was made for stealth attack. It was equiped with a powerful beam scythe (hence the name) which worked even under water (what the heck is this all about?). It also had the 60mm vulcan on it's shoulders and a shield which projected a beam sword. The shield can shoot out at enemies and drill into them. What sets Gundam DS apart from all the others is the fact that it had something called a "Hyper Jammer" which messed up all radar and visual information so bad Deathscythe could effectively become "invisible" during battle.

Deathscythe was given to a boy named Duo Maxwell of colony L2. Duo is one of the more cheerful personalities of the 5 Wing Boys. Unlike the others, the mission isn't as important to him. This was apparent during the Endless Waltz OVA video episode one in which he tries to destroy the "S-size" before the mission is started. However, Duo does go through with the Operation Meteor and goes to earth with it to find a man named Howard. Duo believes that the only god that exists is the god of death (Shinigami) of whom he calls himself. Deathscythe was captured later in the series and destroyed on live television by OZ right in from of Duo's eyes.

XXXG-01SR GUNDAM SANDROCK
Sandrock's identifying feature is it's 2 huge "Heat Shorter" Blades. These blades can cut most MS' to shreds and can also be put together with it's shield to form a claw. It has 2 missile launchers on the front shoulders and the generic 60mm vulcan. It is also the most armored of all 5 Gundam Types which gives it the name "Sandrock".

The pilot of Sandrock is the son of a rich colonist Quatre Raberba Winner (pronounced "Weener" heheh), Colony L3. Quatre is the most kind of the 5 boys who partake in Operation Meteor. His kindness leads his actions and was called "unworthy of piloting Gundam" by Dorothy Catolina because of it. Although they never mention it and it probably don't exist in the After Colony Century, I think Quatre might be a NewType or at least the AC equivalent. During the series he mentions a "Space Mind" (whatever that is) tells him to trust the others. Also in another episode, Heero Yuy attempts to destroy himself and Wing in order to save the the colonies. When he blows up the MS Quatre suddenly gets a pain in his heart and even hears the thoughts of many around him. In yet another episode Quatre himself attempts to destroy Sandrock, but Sandrock actually let's him out and walks by itself towards the other MS' allowing him to escape (but this could have been programed...). In any case Quatre becomes sort of the Team Leader because of his ability to trust others unlike his partners. He also has a strong friendship with the pilot of another Gundam unit, Trowa Barton.

(whoops can't think of anything memmorable that he says...better load up G Gen Zero and find one O.o;)

XXXG-01H GUNDAM HEAVYARMS
HeavyArms. The name says it all. This thing has Missiles, LOTS of missiles. It also has Machine cannons which fire high velocity munitions hidden in it's chest and a Beam Gatling Gun grafted to the arm behind the shield. When surrounded, this thing can go crazy and spray missiles and bullets everywhere like a rain storm. HeavyArms suffers from the same strength however. A tactic used to defeat H-arms in the series was to allow it to waste it's ammo. One thing the enemy didn't realize was that H-Arms also has a "spring action" ballistic army knife under the right arm in case of these situations.

HeavyArms is piloted by Trowa Barton (L4), son of Dekim Barton...or at least it was supposed to be. Upon realizing the truth of Operation Meteor, the scientist who created H-Arms (can't think of name at this point) shot and killed Trowa. Just then the mechanic of H-Arms appeared and offered to take H-Arms on down to earth. Thus the nameless boy took the name Trowa Barton and the MS H-Arms. Trowa is quiet, but not as excentricely quiet as Heero. When he appared on earth, he disguised himself as someone who was looking for work at a travelling circus. There he met a girl named Katherine (who eventually takes in Trowa like her own little brother). Trowa's most distinguising features are the clown mask which only covers half his face and his wierd hair(though it's normal for anime guys and gals to have wierd hair hehe). Being a skilled acrobat he has a trademark flip and attack move which he uses even while in the H-Arms as well (there's some piloting for ya!).

XXXG-01S Shenlong Gundam "Nataku"
Shenlong "Nataku" is a high mobility Mobile Fighter type though that's not what it normally says. I call it that because it has more in common with the G Gundam Mobile Fighters, Shenlong uses basically a hand-to-hand like style of combat. It even borrows an idea from that series, a powerful hydraulic arm that shoots out called a Dragon Hang (yes Hang not Fang, says so on HG 1/100 model). The Dragon Hang also hides a flame thrower. It uses a long beam nagata for taking out those pesky Leos, has the head vulcan of course and a shield on it's arm. Shenlong might be one of the better models to have during a battle because it relies mainly on the skill of the pilot, don't have to worry about ammo.

Chang Wufei of L5's legendary Long clan pilots Shenlong. His sense of honor and justice is great and in battle he prefers traditional single combat against any foe. Wufei calls his unit "Nataku" supposedly after an ancient chinese warrior. I haven't read Episode Zero but here's what I know so far : there was an attack on the colony by Federation Forces in which his Wufei's (older) wife takes the incomplete Tallgeese out to protect the Colony. Wufei goes to help her in the then incomplete Shenlong. They fend of the attackers but in the process Wufei's wife dies. She believed strongly that she was the reborn spirit of Nataku, which Wufei mocked her for but now he honors that name by giving it to his prized MS. Wufei also suffered a terrible trauma. He challeneged Trieze Kushirinada to single combat without their MS. Trieze easily defeated Wufei and even let him live, a disgrace he can't live with.

WMS-03 MAGANAC
The Maganac was the MS of choice for an army of Mercenaries which fully supported the Rebellion against the Federation, Romfeller and OZ. It has a beam rifle and a heat tomahawk and seemed to fair better in battle than the Leos did. These were mass produced and there were custom versions of the suit for pilots Abdul, Afmad, Auda and their leader Rashid.

WMS-04 OLIPHANT
It's a support unit sorta think, like a tank. The name sounds like Oliphaunt from Lord of the Rings heheh. It hovers around and shoots two beam guns. Not much else to say about this.

Federation Mobile Suits (Also used by OZ, White Fang and anyone else)

OZ-06MS LEO
The MS Leo is the Federation counterpart to the GM. Leo is armed with a 105mm Rifle and armored with titanium alloy. It's slow a slow design, with limited flight capability. These get blown up a whole lot in the series. There is a Space Type version of this and that gets trashed a lot as well.

OZ-07AMS ARIES
The Aries is used a lot for air to ground attacks. It has flight and hovering capabilities. These like the Leo get blown up really easy by the Gundam Types. It has a chain rifle and 2 missile pods.

OZ-07MS TRAGOS
The Tragos is best described as a moving tank with arms. It real use is a support unit, like the UC timeline Guncannon. It has a beam rifle and two shoulder cannons. These are rarely seen and used in the series but they get blown up anyway. (See a pattern?)

OZ-08MMS CANCER
This one is an aquatic variable form mobile suit. It changes into a submarine like vehicle and shoots missiles out of the claws that act as it's arms. Of course...these are also blown away as fast as they appear...

OZ-09MMS PISCES
A "better" version of the Cancer. It shoots more missiles and I think it can drill as well...

OZ-12SMS TAURUS
A variable form mobile suit, it can be used in the air, ground or space. It carries a beam rifle, sometimes a beam cannon and was even seen using beam sabres. One of the better models of MS, the Taurus at least can hold it's own when piloted appropriately.

OZ-00MS TALLGEESE
The Tallgeese was the prototype MS for the Taurus. It may have been the prototype but it's features were far superior. Tallgeese used a "super burnier", a cannon called a "dober gun?" and a beam saber. It's pilot was OZ's best, the "Lightning Count" Zechs Marquise. Zechs had an almost obssessive tendency to push the Tallgeese to it's limits, figuring that in any situation during combat Tallgeese was perfect and could defeat any opponent. He would soon realize the fatal flaw in it's design...

Zechs Marquise himself wears a mask to hide his true identity, Miriard Peacecraft an heir to the Kingdom of Peacecraft. His combat spirit is high and his goals are noble. However, he acts to achieving his goals have been less than virtuous. In return for helping his good friend Trieze Kushiranada, he hopes to restore the once proud Kingdom of Peacecraft and protect it's leader, his sister Relena.

OZ-13MSX VAYEATE
A prototype Mobile Suit built by the scientists who created the Gundam Types. Vayeate was forcefully created for OZ as an MS with the ability to channel energy into it's one beam cannon and fire it indefinitely. Technically it's supposed to be offensively powerful but it doesn't have a close range combat weapon so it probably blows. To make up for this Vayeate was created with a counterpart...

OZ-13MSX2 MERCURIUS
The partner unit to Vayeate. Both were created to have statistics equal or greater than a Gundam Type. Mercurius excells in using defense. It uses a chain of funnels that create some sort of energy shield. Only a really strong beam weapon could penetrate through the shield that it creates. It also has a shield which can project a beam sword. Vayeate and Mercurius were used together, while Vayeate charged it's cannon Mercurius would shield it with the "funnel" things. These two were destroyed and later rebuilt as Mobile Dolls.

OZ-13MS GUNDAM "EPYON"
The Gundam Epyon is a high mobility variable form mobile suit. It can change into a mobile armor which looks like a sting ray or a two headed dragon (these're the only two theories I've heard so far, care to gimme another? hehe). It only has two weapons, a beam sword and something called a beam rod which is a huge whip on it's arm. The beam rod works a lot like a heat hawk, it heats up to some degree and can easily slice MS' to pieces. Inside the Epyon, the pilot has to wear a helmet to control the MS. This helmet is wired to the computer which passes tactical data to the person (a lot like ZERO system).

When Epyon was first created, it was given to Heero Yuy by Trieze during an attack by OZ against the Pro-Trieze faction's last earth base. Heero piloted Epyon for a while before he met with Zechs Marquise and Wing ZERO. During that battle, both systems overloaded and forced the pilots out of their MS'. After a short rest both were under attack by OZ forces. Heero traded the Epyon for Wing ZERO, saying that Epyon would show Zechs the path he should take since the MS was more in tune with Trieze's thoughts. Zechs was the last pilot to use Epyon before it was destroyed during a massive explosion that occured while the space fortress Libra was falling to earth.

OZ-02MD VIRGO
Virgo is basically a mass production Vayeate/Mercurius. It uses mass produced versions of the energy beam rifle and the beam shield system. These were controlled by the Mobile Doll system. With an almost perfect defense and offense these models blew away many-a-Leo.

OZ-03MD VIRGO II
Same as Vigro except these were modified for space, carry normal beam rifles and have a different paint job.

OZ-00MS2 TALLGEESE II
This was a model design based on Tallgeese but obviously modified to look different. It has the same weaponry as the Tallgeese but it now had a blue and white color scheme. This model was piloted in the last war by OZ/Romfeller leader Trieze Kushirinada. During the battle though, Trieze was killed in mortal combat against the most honorable of the Gundam pilots, Chang Wufei.
