"So you want to see my home, do you?" Freddar jumped up and led you deeper into the snow cave system. It was getting warmer and warmer, and you thought perhaps you have passed a transition somewhere into a rocky cave system, now. Finally he swings open one of many doors, and both of you walk into a spacious cave. "This is what I like to call my Aery, but it feels as though its missing something," he admitted. You ask what. "Well, I'm not sure. My dreams say that it has something to do with a place called Savat Aery. That's why I call this an Aery. The sagewoman says I have some of the stranger dreams," he commented. You thought there was nothing wrong in dreaming of other places, and said so.
"Oh, well its not only that," he responded "everyone here has those dreams of some place or another. But I also dream, very frequently, of a white cat with bi-colored eyes, like mine," he gestured to his eyes. In fact, several other people have said that they've seen just such a cat in the corridors at night sometimes. I haven't seen him, since I'm usually sleeping. The sagewoman thinks that there is a connection, but others feel that I heard of the cat and then started dreaming about him," Freddar shrugged. "I don't know. I just remember, that from wherever I came from, I used to like felines a great deal," Freddar said. He twitched an ear.
"Well, this is it. Why don't you explore elsewhere? Or come back later. My Aery might be a little more interesting," he grinned.
Frull'Ryxa and his rider Freddar (when the dragon was big enough) were standing in a sparsely herbed area of the great ice dome that held the nourishing plants for the Hearth. The dragon was still small, and glistened with a newly oiled white hide. Both dragon and rider were excited.
"Come on, try again!" Freddar encouraged.
"Wait a moment," and the Frull'Ryxa took in a deep breath, squinted his eyes, and expelled a cylinder of frozen water droplets.
"Wow, that went farther than last time," Freddar said excitedly.
"I think when I am older, I will be able to spit ice," Frull'Ryxa commented.
"You are well suited for Snowlund, Frull, why you practically breathe the land and shine like a snowflake in the cold sun," Freddar said, elated that the beautiful intelligent dracoforme had chosen him.
A blustery snow storm was billowing up, and the sentinel peered into the blizzard on last time to see if anyone still had to come into the Hearth. He could hardly see a thing. He sighed and trudged through the huge wooden doors. The wind blew in depositing large amounts of snow. The doors would be buried under many feet of snow, but this was normal. Just leave it to the dracoformes to melt their way out when all was peaceful again. He reached the crank and started walking around it, wheeling the doors shut. A large gust of wind drove through the narrowing crack and the sentinel cursed. More to clean up.
However, the mound spoke. "Almost closed us out!" The voice said cheerily, bearing no ill will. A pure white dragon shook the snow from his hide and preened. He rider jumped forth and clapped the sentinel warmly on the shoulder.
"HearthKeeper! Sorry, I thought ev'ryone 'uz in!" He looked surprised.
"Just out looking for any lost creatures before the storm blew in," Freddar said, and he and Frull'Ryxa advanced into the large system of ice caves to find their Aery.
