IMPORTANT ART NOTICE
Due to a recent unfortunate incident, I must make this announcement. If you wish to use my artwork for your own page, you must follow these guides;
- Email me for permission first
- Do not alter the pictures in any way
- Give me credit somewhere prominently on the page, not shuffled off in some tiny corner in tiny text.
It's really a matter of courtesy, folks. I urge you to contact the artist whose work you want to use and ask permission, no matter who that artist is. You'll find they rarely say no, provided you do pretty much what I've asked above. We're not ogres. (Well, Thor Thorvaldson Jr. may demand the right to punch you in the arm once really hard, but that's about it.)

MORE INFO
I strongly urge everyone to take a look at Hitoshi Ariga's web site, specifically, the part in English on the usage of web graphics. Despite its broken English, I think it's pretty clear the view Capcom has on graphics... "Don't use ours without permission, and we won't bother original artists' works based on our stuff"... and Ariga points out what I've noticed on Japanese web pages... nobody uses other people's work without permission.
Again, respect other people's work, ask permission for usage, and things will be a lot smoother for everyone all around.

Apologies for the lack of updates to this... I'm still gathering info and pictures, I just haven't got the time right now for the monster updates, especially to the DASH section. Some day, don't worry.

RockMan X6 / MegaMan X6
for Playstation

06/01/01 - Bloody hell, that was quick. This one takes place a whopping three weeks after X5 on a ravaged Earth. Zero's missing, and a new giant Repliroid is wrecking what's not already busted. New developments are include the ability to use Zero's Zetsaber as X, the "Nightmare system" with randomized enemy/level layouts and branching gameplay paths dependant on your actions. You can find a preview MPEG on Capcom USA's E3 pag. Hopefully there'll be a larger animation & sound budget than in X5. Projected US release in November, no idea about Japan yet.

Battle Network RockMan EXE / MegaMan Battle Network
for Game Boy Advance

06/01/01 - The newest RockMan series, and the first Capcom project on Nintendo's newest big-launch system. Netto Hikari ("Lan" in the US, heh heh... both names are internet puns) and his "NetNavi PET" friend RockMan EXE must save the world from the machinations of an evil corporation (run by Wily, natch) that's infecting the global network with viruses. You'll play as both Netto (in the human world) and RockMan (in cyberspace). Battles take place in cyberspace in intense dodge-and-shoot combat, with a variety of weapons and helper attacks. Several classic characters have been redesigned alongside new bosses like ColoredMan, NumberMan, and SharkMan. The hating and reviling by the hardcore whiners out there has begun. Their loss... having played the Japanese version, I can say it's an absolute BLAST. Currently out in Japan, projected US release in September now.

RockMan X2: Soul Eraser / MegaMan Xtreme 2
for Game Boy Color
06/01/01
- The X-series continues on the GBC. A new Repliroid has aquired the "Soul DNA Chip" and is replicating Repliroids (heh). X and Zero are back on the case, and both apparently fully-playable. Iris also appears alongside a new currently-unnamed character. Unfortunately, it looks like this'll follow in the GB series' footsteps and be mainly recycled stages and bosses with a handful of new stuff thrown in. Confirmed bosses include Burnin' Naumander, Launcher Octopuld, Sonic Ostreague and Wire Hetimarl. Projected Japanese release in the summer, projected US release in September.

RockMan DASH 2 : The Great Legacy / MegaMan Legends 2
for PSX, "Best for Family" release

06/01/01 - Want to get your hands on the Japanese version of this game? Well, Capcom's re-released it as part of their budget "Best for Family" line. Good luck.

RockMan DASH / MegaMan Legends
for PC

04/25/01 - Capcom apparently refuses to give up on the PC market. Good thing, since MML was a damn good game and lots of fun. Should be interesting to see how it translates. Currently out in Japan, projected US release in May.

SNK Vs Capcom CardFighters' Clash 2
for Neo Geo Pocket Color

04/03/01 - SNK refuses to give up on its plucky little handheld, and is following Capcom's lead by continuing the big company crossover. Not much information is available about this right now, but since the first game featured over a half-dozen RockMan-series cards, it's a sure bet the sequel will have them, if not add new ones. Projected Japanese release in the fall of 2001, no US release since the NGPC is sadly dead here.

RockMan X5 / MegaMan X5
for Playstation

02/03/01 - The latest in the saga of the Irregular Hunters, in glorious, richly-colored, not-quite-as-smoothly-animated-as-one-expects-from-Capcom 2D. X and Zero must foil Sigma's plans to smack the Eurasia space colony into the Earth. The Irregular Hunters get reinforcements (Inspector General Cygnus, dispatcher Aeria, mechanic Douglass, and paramedic Life-Saver), while facing the mercenary Dynamo. Eight new enemies hold the neccessary equipment to get the Earth-saving Enigma laser cannon operational; Crescent Grizzly/Slash Grizzly, Bolt Kraken/Squid Adler, Shining Hotarunix/Izzy Glow, Tidal Makkoeem/Duff McWhalen, Spiral Pegacion/The Skiver, Spike Rosered/Axl the Red, Dark Necrobat/Dark Dizzy, and Burn Dinorex/Mattrex. (No, I don't think the US-version names are an abomination. Stop whining.) New gamelay additions include a (pseudo) time limit, hostage rescues (essentialy 1-Ups), viruses, wire-climbing, ducking, new power add-on programs and more. Currently out in Japan and US..

RockMan X CyberMission / MegaMan Xtreme
for Game Boy Color

01/12/01 - The next game in the RockMan X series, this time in hand-held form. Young Repliroid hacker Techno has broken into the Mother Computer, and X must stop the terrorist (along with the evil Shadow Hunters Zayin and Gimel) with the help of Techno's younger brother Midi. This game is very much like the first four RockMan games for the GB... recycled stages and bosses from previous games with a few new "super boss" enemies tossed in, though you have to play through its various skill levels to unlock more of the game. I-Penguigo, S-Mandriller, A-Armage, S-Eagleed, F-Stagger, M-Mothmeanos, M-Hyakulegger and W-Aligatess are the stage bosses we'll blow up again, along with Vava, Bosspider and Serges. Also compatable with the old black-and-white GB and the Super Game Boy for SNES, though performance suffers a bit on those. Currently out in Japan and US.

04/03/01 - ProtoMan/Wily and GutsMan return for BotCon 2001!
BotCon 2001, the official convention celebrating Hasbro's Transformers toys, has confirmed the final guest list, and Scott McNiel (Wily & Proto in the MM cartoon, Rattrap/Dinobot/Waspinator/Silverbolt in the Beast shows) and Gary Chalk (Guts in MM, Optimus Primal in Beasts) will be attending barring last-minute emergencies. Both have been a guests of BotCon in the past, and like all the guests at these shows, were very open and freindly with the attendees. It's worth noting that many dealers do bring non-Transformers merchandise to sell at BotCon, and RockMan toys aren't uncommon. I'll be there as well, with art for sale plus a presentation, gods help us all. Pre-registration has ended, so you'll have to pay door prices and won't get discounts on the convention-exclusive toys. Sorry.

04/25/01 - Capcom MegaMan game bundle deals
Well, okay, this is game news, but not really about the games themselves. Capcom's web site is currently having a "bundle pack" special. Two MegaMan bundle sets are available, each for $49.95 (plus shipping). Choose from a "classic side-scroller" pack of MegaMan 8, MegaMan X4 and MegaMan X5, or pick up the "Legends" pack of MegaMan Legends, The Misdaventures of Tron Bonne and MegaMan Legends 2.

04/03/01 - Marvel Vs. Capcom toys
Is it just me, or have the Iron Man/MegaMan packs from this series vanished? Toy Biz's Marvel Vs. Capcom toys are still at Kay-Bees alongside the full run of X-Men Vs Street Fighter (although Dhalsim is now sporting a really-cheap-looking white rope-belt) for $8 a pop, but I don't think I've seen a single WM/MM pack in months across several different stores.

02/17/01 - Wily Wars final levels open on emulators
This really is outside the normal bounds of what I usually put here, but it's fairly important. Thanks to a save-game level-editor, "Havoc" has created a save-game file for the Sega Genesis MegaMan: The Wily Wars ROM that opens up the previously-unavailble-to-emulators "Wily Tower". This save-game file can be found at Dr. Cossack's web site, though you'll have to rename it to match the filename for the ROM to get it to work. This file works ONLY for the English-language Wily Wars version, not the Japanese MegaWorld. Have a ball!

02/10/01 - Servbot hand towel at Capcom web
This might have gone up a while ago, my apologies. But one of the items you can get from Capcom's web site is a Servbot hand towel, measuring 12x18 inches. An interesting piece of merchandise brought over from Japan.

02/10/01 - RockMan EXE goods on the horizon
Capcom Japan's Garakudo Lab site, the portion of their goods site devoted to stuff in the works, has provided images of some of the merchandise we should see out in Japan for Battle Network RockMan EXE's March release. Among them, a set of battle cards by Bandai's Cardass card division, and a set of candy toys featuring two different versions of RockMan, Netto Hikari, Roll, Blues, GutsMan, WoodMan and the previously-unseen EXE version of FireMan. Also, the gashapon machines shown at the bottom are for RockMan X5 goods with a June release date (at least, I think it's a release date)... but what EXACTLY they are I don't know. More on this as I get it.

02/10/01 - No more pins with MegaMan X5 web orders
I think I've updated this one item three times now in the past 24 hours. Capcom has apparently run out (and run out quickly) of both the classic MegaMan and the MegaMan XMegaMan X5 from the Capcom web site. Still, ordering from Capcom directly does have its benefits.

01/12/01 - RockMan X5 gashapon figurines
By the end of the month, eight small-plastic figurines of the cast of RockMan X5 will be available in gashapon (gumball machines) across Japan. You can see a picture of them at Capcom Japan's Garakudo site. X, Falcon X, Zero, Sigma, Dynamo, Bolt Kraken, Dark Necrobat and Crescent Grizzly are in this assortment. Also note the "All Capcom World" gals set... hey hey, finally a Devilotte fig!

01/12/01 - New RockMan X model figures from Bandai
Bandai's cranking out the international-market recolors again, this time in shiny chrome plating. Now available on eBay (ugh) and many import toy stores, RockMan X All-X (chrome), Return iX (chrome), Bug Ball X (recolored Spinning Blade X), Acid Rush X (Tornado Fang), Magnet Mine X (Parasitic Bomb), and Sonic Slicer X (Frost Shield). If you'll let me editorialize a bit... gee. Not even a new projectile plug-in... how very very weak.
