1980
In January, Carrie's brother, Charles (or Charlie as she still refers to him) is born. He was really cute at first.

1983
August of that year was Carrie's first day of school, starting with grade one. She waited at the end of her drive way with her blue, Holly-Hobby lunch box, wearing white leotards and a red and white dress. She was very cute. Her classroom was downstairs, but when she got off the bus, she accidentally went upstairs, where the principal, Mr. Bob White, had to lead her to Mrs. Marion Bell's first grade classroom. It even had a slide. And her lunch consisted of cookies, a thermos of milk, and a processed meat [meat, macaroni & cheese] sandwich with ketchup.

1985
It was in third grade where Carrie obtained a rubber frog as a fair prize. "Froggie" would have clothing, recipes, and domiciles inspired by him, and would even travel to Mount Allison University in the future.

Also in third grade Carrie read her first book about outer space. However written in the 1960s and wrongly calculating the time it would take men to live in oxygenized domes on the moon, she was captivated nonetheless and read the book at least seven times, wondering each time what it would be like to live on the moon. She decided at this point a career as an astronaught was in the cards for her.

1986
Carrie watches in horror with her third grade classmates as the NASA shuttle 'Challenger' explodes in the sky. She had always wanted to become an astronaut, but the fear that was instilled in her that day led her down a non-scientific road. She will regret that mistake when she becomes an adult.

1987
Carrie had her favourite teacher ever in the fifth grade. Mrs. Mavis Donovan had become more than a teacher to Carrie as she would confess her deepest secrets, including a crush on the coolest bad-boy, Kevin Smith, without Mrs. Donovan telling anyone. However, Mrs. Donovan was not the teacher responsible for 'Science' at the fifth grade level. When Mrs. Benner (Carrie's former third grade teacher) taught them science, Carrie, however unfortunate, lost interest in becoming an astronaught. Her attentions shifted to becoming an artist or fashion designer when she won the chance to paint Christmas decorations on the windows of the local postal outlet.

1988
Sixth grade was held back from the Intermediate levels, so once again Carrie's class was the oldest in the school. She also wrote an award winning speech on tardiness for a competition which saw her travel to a different school to recite it. It included her 'jumping off the stage'. Judges at the secondary competition included Paddy Greg from CBC Radio, whom Carrie listened to every morning before going to school.

For the first time in her life, Carrie had become somewhat popular by becoming best friends with the 'coolest' girl in school - Jayne Allen. Carrie also had her first boyfriend, Shane York. The relationship lasted a week and a half.

1989
Carrie had finally made it to intermediate school where her love of art grew even more. She made new friends as three elementary schools supplied the bigger step up. She became best friends with a girl named Jennifer LeBlanc and had a steady boyfriend, Chris Rideout. But as all things young, her relationship wit Chris didn't last. Carrie also had an innocent, and very brief fling with Dawson Alward.

1990
Carrie was in the 8th grade and befriended a girl named Jody Milbury. Jody, Jennifer and Carrie were glued at the hip. And for the second year in a row, Carrie was in Mrs. Norma Hamilton's homeroom. Relationships that year included a boy named Justin Taylor. Justin broke up with Carrie after two months of dating based on an untrue rumour. Carrie felt her first heartbreak and was devastated.

1991
Jody's family suddenly moved to Alberta and on the day she left, Mrs. Suzanne Alexander wouldn't let Carrie out of the classroom to have a private goodbye. Carrie never liked Mrs. Alexander after that and regretted that she could not say good bye to her friend.

In September of that year, after a summer of trying to get his attention, Carrie started dating a guy who was three and a half years older than her tender age of 14. David Jackson would be the longest relationship of her teenage years, lasting four and a half years.

1991
Carrie's maternal aunt, Peggy Maureen, marries Clarence Robinson. They are a perfect match and he won Carrie over the Christmas before by giving her NKOTB's "Hangin' Tough" cassette.

1993
Carrie is now attending Carleton North Senior High School. The friends she made in Intermediate are fading away as over the summer Carrie spent more and more time with the girl next door, April Joy White.

In English, she read her first serious novel which also became an intant favourite: Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird". Shakespeare was "Twelfth Night".

1994
Carrie joins the Drama Club at her high school, and gets the lead in the play "How to be Incredibly Successful at Everything" by Mr. Weldon Matthews. Her character was the good witch, Gloria. It won "Best Play" at the Dramafest awards in Fredericton.

1995
David breaks up with Carrie shortly after the opening of the new play she is in with CNSHS's Drama Club. He had given her a rose the week before - it is still alive. She felt the irony of that for years to come.

On and off that year, Carrie and David reconcile and break apart. She was supposed to go to her prom with him, but ended up taking a fellow she had met from Fredericton, named Philippe Doucet. Philippe subsequently ended their relationship shortly after as he was two years younger and because Carrie wasn't French.

April leaves two days after graduation to move to Winnipeg.

After her June graduation, Carrie embarks upon life at university in Sackville, attending Mount Allison. she is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

1996
David and Carrie reconcile once more, this time with a trip by him to visit her in Sackville. However, this would be the last time they would be together as a couple.

March of that year, Carrie would come home for "Spring Break" for the sole purpose of visiting David. Ended up that the reason he had come to visit was to break up with her, but couldn't do it. He is now seeing another named Holly, who is even younger than Carrie.

At the start of her second year of university, Carrie finds out that she must repeat a course from her first year - one that she failed due to lack of money for the supplies needed.

1997
In April of '97, Carrie gets her first job - a Sandwich Artist at Subway.

Again, Carrie fails the required courses needed to get a student loan to study Fine Art, this time on account her portfolio wasn't handed in. However, it had been handed in, and someone had moved it over the summer - therefore it went unnoticed. Carrie eventually got the passes required for the course, but it was after she was to start paying the interest on her student loans. She couldn't keep up and ended up not returning for a third year as planned.

In August of that year, Carrie's attentions are focused on the television due to the recent death of the Princess of Wales. Heartbroken with the rest of the world, she picks wildflowers and lays them on the steps of the local Anglican church. That same day, Carrie is fired from Subway for 'not loving her job.' Two months later, she gets a job at Wendy's, a job she'll hold for two years.

1998
Carrie's first cat, Trinket, (orange and white) enters her home.

In August, Carrie moves to Moncton.

2000
Carrie celebrated the new millenium with friends - Sandi and Brian Bourque. The night was filled with champagne and Trivial Pursuit.

Carrie was promoted to 'Crew Trainer' status, with an increase in pay.

Later that year, Carrie was promoted again, to Team Co-Ordinator, then to Swing Manager within a couple of months.

Jay purchases Anakin & Sisko, the gerbils from the local pet store. Another cat, a long haired calico, was given to Jay as a birthday gift. We name her Abby.
