Planning an Or...whoops, Party
By Donna and EV
Ev and Jathelle giggled as they got the babies dressed and themselves changed. Theron heard and had to see what was so much fun. "You two going somewhere?"
Ev chuckled. "Yep. Kat had an appointment with the doctor today and we're meeting her over at the coffee shop to see how she's doing." She exchanged a grin with Jathelle.
Theron wasn't sure he quite believed that entirely. They seemed too happy just to be talking about babies, but Ev had learned how to shield as well as Jathelle could. He wasn't getting any more information out of either of them. They did this all the time lately. He shrugged mentally. "Well, have a good time. Rayden has been talking about trying to teach me to play poker again." His eyes lit up with mischief.
Katherine had come back to the coffee shop around five after her OB appointment. It had closed at 4PM as usual but it was the perfect place for the ladies to meet to discuss the upcoming party.
Sarah Jo sweet talked Giles into letting her off a little early and she accompanied Katherine from the clinic to the coffee shop. Once there, Katherine got the hot water going for tea and set out a plate of goodies to snack on for when Ev, Jathelle and Carol arrived.
Carol had a very late night and was taking a nap, when she woke with a start, from one of those disturbing dreams that just wakes you up and disappears. She sat up grumbling and happened to glance at the clock. "Oh shit! I'm supposed to be at the coffee shop in 15 minutes." She rolled out of bed and stared into the closet. "Thank god for cybering." She muttered as she thought herself showered and into an outfit.
When she dashed downstairs, Monroe looked up from some music he was working on. "Where you going? Will you be back for dinner?"
"I don't know. Promised Ev and Jathelle I'd do something with them tonight. Don't know how long I'll be. Rayden and Theron will be rattling around in the castle. You could hang out over there."
She drew him up out of his chair and snuggled against him for a hug. "I'll be all ready for you when I get back. Tell Mullard, too."
"Ok. Have a good time. I hope we're not gonna be playing poker over there. Theron cheats."
Carol giggled and ground herself against him, before escaping from his arms and skipping out the door. "Have fun! See you later!"
Soon as Carol stepped outside, she could see Ev and Jathelle on their way to collect her. "Hi you two! I hardly see you anymore! They keep you busy, huh?"
Ev chuckled. "Yeah. They do." She couldn't help doing a double-take. "Isn't that outfit a bit much for just a bunch of us girls?"
Carol looked down at herself. She was wearing black leggings, knee-high purple suede boots that laced down the front, and a purple silk shirt. Her hair was in a long braid. "What's wrong with it?"
"Nothing's wrong with it. Never mind." Ev grinned. Jathelle chuckled at them both. "Well, I like it! Aren't we running a little late?" They hurried along laughing together.
Katherine and Sarah Jo were having a nice chat together. It wasn't often that they could get together without the guys hanging over their shoulder and listening in to what they were saying.
Suddenly Kat stopped in mid sentence and *listened*. "Ev and Jathelle are coming," she said with a bright smile. Katherine opened the door and let the three ladies in. Everyone hugged each other and admired the twins. After the greetings they all sat down a little breathless from laughing and giggling. As Katherine poured everyone's tea, Ev declared the meeting of the SIMs City Irregulars open, which made everyone laugh again.
Jathelle couldn't help grinning at Kat. "So you're feeling good? You look so happy!"
Katherine giggled and told her she didn't know the half of it yet.
Carol smiled. "Ev, I hope its ok, I told my guys to go drop in on Rayden and Theron. You know, Mullard said he hoped they wouldn't be playing poker over there because Theron cheats."
Ev laughed so hard, she woke Rayven. "He does! He just does it to bug people. Its so cute!"
Kat rubbed her gently rounded tummy and smiled. "Ok, ladies, lets get down to business. Ev and I have some ideas about the party we want to bounce off of you. The party will start
tomorrow night and last till Sunday. We are going to have three different themes, one each day.
"I'm going to have Rayden doing the food, so there's no cleanup or fussing with shopping and everything. We're doing a Cajun faisdodo on Friday night. Saturday's theme is Polynesian, complete with a pig roast and luau. On Sunday, we'll have a nice big Western style BBQ with all the trimmings. That sound pretty good? I'm sure the guys will like it." Ev couldn't help grinning.
Katherine agreed that would be a splendid idea. "We could all be dressed Polynesian style that day, and in Western outfits the next."
Carol sat back in her chair with a big grin on her face. "Do grass skirts come in purple?" Then she realized what she said and her grin got bigger. "You may take that as a pun." Then she had another inspiration. "We doing Tahitian style with no tops?" Her grin was positively predatory.
Katherine grinned back, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I'm game, if you are."
Ev smiled to herself, considering. "Yeah, I'm more than willing. What about you, Jathelle?"
"Sure!" She looked a bit lost. "What's a grass skirt?" It sounded like fun, whatever it was.
Carol grinned over at Jathelle. "You'll definitely look interesting in a grass skirt." Then she turned to Sarah Jo. "What about you?"
Sarah Jo blushed. "Can ah wear my hair down?" she asked. Katherine just laughed and told her that would be cheating.
"You'll do great! Trust me!" Carol grinned. "I could teach you all how to do a hula. Did some of those moves with I danced. I bet that would keep the guys paying attention."
"We have some other things plans to keep the guys attention as well," Katherine said with a wicked grin. "What would you think of the idea of over the weekend, the five of us making sure each one of them has a *very* good time."
Carol's eyebrows went up. "You're kidding! I LOVE it! So how do we decide who gets who?" Jathelle giggled. "That sounds like fun! How did you keep this a secret from me? You're getting good at shielding!" She gave Ev a poke.
"To make it more interesting," Kat continued, "none of us would do it with someone we have been with before until everyone at the party has had a turn with one of us."
"I really like this! Mmmmmm.........." Carol almost purred. "What night did you say this is going to be?"
"Very interesting. I'm going to like this, too." Jathelle grinned.
Sarah Jo just chuckled. "So much for not giving in to the guys so quickly," she said with a grin. "We gonna draw names from a hat or something?"
"There's a time and a place for playing hard to get." Ev grinned. "This will NOT be one of those times." She sat back looking thoughtful. "Yeah, how are we gonna do this and be sure we don't get the name of somebody we've already been with?"
"The hat would be a good idea," Katherine said. "If we draw someone we have already been with we have to toss his name back in. But I know of someone who has been with four of us already. So we already now who he is going to get to play with." She winked at Sarah Jo who just looked confused. She had no idea who they were talking about.
Ev and Carol grinned and Jathelle chuckled. "He's a sweetheart."
"So how many guys are going to be at this party? I've completely lost track of how many CLims there are." Carol was already anticipating.
"There are 23 of them, not counting Father Alec who will be excused from this," Katherine replied. "But Theron, Duende, and Indiana will be there too. So that makes at least five each for us."
"Yum!" Carol grinned.
"This is going to be an interesting weekend." Jathelle giggled.
"Not quite the word I would use, but its in the right direction." Ev chuckled.
