An Unforgettable Evening

As soon as Fitz saw Sarah Jo home that evening, he phoned Rayden right away, hoping he wouldn't be waking the babies. As he waited for him to answer the phone, he crossed his fingers that he'd be free to take over the Bistro for him as he'd said he would on the night he needed him to.
"Hello, Fitz. You thought of a night you want me to take over the Bistro. Should be fun! Tomorrow night?" There was a chuckle in his voice. He knew that sort of thing made people nervous.
Fitz was silent a moment as he regained his composure, telling himself it was normal for a god to do such things, then smiled, "Well, dear boy, actually Tuesday night. Sarah Jo has said she is free the next day, and I was planning to have her over for dinner and then maybe going out for a nice stroll somewhere. Would you be free then?"
Rayden laughed softly. "Tuesday is fine. What time should I be there? You'll probably have some things to show me about the menu and how you want things done. I've never run a restaurant before." There was a sound of babies in the background.
"Uhoh, I was afraid of that. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake your children. If you could be there around 4:30, that would give us plenty of time for me to explain things and still get back home and get things ready. Would that be convenient?"
"You didn't wake them. They were already awake. They don't understand schedules yet. 4:30 would be fine. I'm really looking forward to this."
"So am I, my friend, more than you know. See you then, and give my regards to your beautiful lady. Speak to you then.", and they said goodbye.

Rayden grinned as he hung up the phone. "Ev! I'm helping Fitz at the Bistro on Tuesday."
Ev giggled at his enthusiasm. "You better behave yourself. You're like an overgrown kid when you get going sometimes. You need me to be there with you?"
"I think I can manage without a babysitter. I've been around a while before you came along, you know." He slid into her arms and chuckled into her ear. "I'll be fine. You worry too much." A sweet, lingering kiss served to further reassure her, and the matter was dropped.

Fitz couldn't help a grin as he dialed Sarah Jo's number; he knew she'd still be up waiting to hear from him. It wasn't Sarah Jo that answered though, but someone with a still obvious Scottish accent.
Fitz smiled when he heard the voice of his old friend. "Duende, my friend! Is Sarah Jo still awake, or have I taken too long securing our plans?" He felt like a schoolboy going on a first date with a girl, though they'd already been not only out, but together.
"Fitz, you old devil! She's up, hang on," he said. There was the muffled sound of laughter and a loud "Let go!" before she picked up the phone, still giggling.
Fitz chuckled, then smiled, "Well, my dear, I hate to interrupt your fun, but I thought you'd like to know that everything is set for Tuesday night, just as we'd hoped. I will be by for you at 7 pm, and we will first have dinner at my place, and then go for a nice leisurely walk, anywhere you'd like. Would that be acceptable, or is there something else you'd like to do?"
"Sounds wonderful! I'm really looking forward to it!" she said with another laugh and a "Would you stop that!" whispered to someone on her end of the line.
"Very good; I'll let you go then. It sounds like I am keeping someone else from enjoying your charms. See you Tuesday at 7, my lady," and they hung up. As he fell asleep that night, he did so with a smile on his face; Tuesday night would indeed be a very special one.
On Tuesday, promptly at 4:30 pm, Rayden arrived at the Bistro, all set to go to work. The white-haired god was grinning like a kid in a candy store. He had never been in a modern restaurant kitchen. His eyes lit up with curiosity and amusement as Fitz showed him around. "I'm supposed to let the waiters take the food out to people?" That seemed like a lot of extra work to him.
"Yes, that's the most efficient thing we mortals and Immortals have come up with over the years," Fitz said with a chuckle. "You needn't worry, they are all experienced and know perfectly what to do. What you will really be doing, for the most part, is sort of strolling through the kitchen and around the restaurant itself, making sure everything is running smoothly. You will also probably be in the position of maitre'd, as the evening progresses. That means you will be standing at the podium, checking off people's names that have a reservation for dinner. It's not all that hard, and Franck is a capable manager. He should be able to handle any emergencies that come up."
Rayden was a little disappointed that he wouldn't actually be fixing any of the food, but he grinned and looked out at the dining room. "Isit usually busy on Tuesday nights?"
"No, not especially; that's another reason I said that it wouldn't be all that hard. Of course, it goes without saying that if you should feel like popping into the kitchen and experimenting, please be my guest. I know you wanted to practice your culinary skills, that should give you the chance to do it." He felt comfortable extending the invitation to the god; after all, what could happen? There was a state of the art fire fighting system installed in case of accidents.
Rayden's smile got even bigger. "I'm going to like this." He looked around the kitchen with keen interest, already thinking of what he might like to experiment with. "How long will you be gone? Till after closing?"
Fitz had to laugh at his enthusiasm, and smiled, "Most probably, I'd say. It really depends on what Sarah Jo wants to do after our dinner, but I don't think we're going to part company all that early. She tends to like long walks, and just sitting and, ahem, looking at the stars." He knew very well he didn't have to elaborate on what he meant by that!
"Looking at the stars?" Rayden laughed. "I've never heard it called that before." He couldn't help teasing. "Is there anything else I need to know before you leave?"
Fitz considered a moment, then smiled, "No, lad, I think that about covers it." Then he looked at his watch, and continued, "And I have a dinner to prepare for and a lady to pick up, so I'd best be going.
Good luck, and remember, if you need anything, Franck knows what to do." They said their goodbyes and Fitz left for his townhouse, confident that this was going to be a wonderful night. He showered, dressed, and had dinner ready in plenty of time to go and pick up his date. He knew he was a little early, as he rang Sarah Jo's bell at about 10 to 7, but he knew she wouldn't mind.
Duende answered the door and the two of them greeted each other like the old friends they were, while Dani dashed up the stairs to tell Sarah Jo her date was there. While he waited for Sarah Jo, Fitz was also greeted by her puppy, who was rapidly growing up. He ambled over
to Fitz, sniffed his hand, and then proceeded to jump up on him, his lofty tail wagging, as he tried to reach Fitz' face to kiss him. Fitz laughed and petted the dog, scratching behind his ears as he paid no attention to the dog hairs that were getting on his tux, and that was how Sarah Jo found them when she came downstairs.
"Padraigh! Get down!" she ordered. The pup immediately sat down beside Fitz, an 'aw maw, you spoil all my fun' look on his face. But Fitz wasn't paying attention to the dog anymore; his eyes were on Sarah Jo.
She was dressed in a strapless gown that fit her upper body snugly and had a flair skirt. It's lovely teal blue color accented her eyes perfectly. The only jewelry she wore was a pearl choker around her neck. Her long strawberry blonde hair was done up in an elaborate French braid that cascaded down her mostly bare back.
Fitz went over to her, transfixed by the vision before him. "My lady....you are even more beautiful tonight than I had grown used to seeing. I will certainly be the envy of every man that sees you tonight wherever we go. Shall we go?" he asked, taking both her hands in his, drawing her to him, and kissing her gently. Sarah Jo picked up a lace shawl that was waiting for her by the door, and Fitz helped drape it over her bare shoulders. Both Duende and Dani blew her a kiss as the couple walked out the door.

Rayden was greeting people at the door, checking reservations and grinning at everyone. The place wasn't very busy this evening, as Fitz had predicted. There was only so much to hold his attention, and after awhile he spoke to Franck and then wandered back into the kitchen, seeing what was kept where and finding a little corner to play in.

It wasn't long until Fitz and Sarah Jo reached the townhouse, and he hoped she would like what he had made for dinner. After he seated her, he brought out covered dishes from the kitchen with the food he had been keeping cyberly warm, and placed them on the table. He uncovered two plates with filet mignon steaks, done to perfection, and the covered serving dishes contained baked potatoes, mixed vegetables, and a healthy looking salad. The small cruets with oil and vinegar were placed beside the salad bowl, and as a finishing touch, he brought out a wonderful red wine and opened it, to let it breathe. As he sat down, he asked Sarah Jo, "Was there anything you might like that you don't see here, my lady? If there is, I can have it ready very quickly, just let me know."
"It all looks wonderful, Fitz! And I'm starving, didn't get a lunch break today at the clinic." She then proceeded to put a good healthy dent into the food set before her. He smiled as he watched her eat, glad he'd prepared a meal she liked.
After the main course was done, he then produced a light lemon chiffon for dessert, along with a delicious hazelnut coffee to finish the meal off. When they were finally finished, they sat for a little while to let their stomachs rest. As they did, Fitz asked her, "Have you decided where you would like to go tonight? Anywhere you prefer is fine with me."
"I talked to John Clayton earlier. He said that he would have Hudson let us into the zoo tonight. He suggested the aviary in particular. I think he and the Mama Kat have some fond memories of that place," she said with a grin on her face.
His eyes sparkled as he thought of some memories that they might make there, and he smiled, "Very well, my lady. Your wish is my command-off to the aviary it is." As they got ready to go, he was very glad indeed it was an especially nice night. Thoughts of the Bistro never even entered his mind, as he enjoyed his first truly free night from the place in a long time.

One of the things Rayden found while he poked around the kitchen was a shelf full of cookbooks. There seemed to be at least one for each type of ethnic food in existence. He took one down at random and paged through it. Then another, and another. Each recipe he had seen was now memorized. Then he found a book with drink recipes. This was all new to him. He sat down to read with a smile on his face.

Fitz had driven them to the aviary, because Sarah Jo was wearing pumps, and he didn't want her feet to get tired before they got there. He found a parking spot for the small electric car near the entrance, and soon, they were walking along the paths in the aviary, her arm tucked into his as they strolled along slowly. He was entranced by the way she looked in the soft moonlight; her face seem to have a soft glow about it. As they roamed through the aviary admiring the beautiful flowers and exotic birds, they came to a park bench. He turned to her as they approached it, and asked, "Are your feet tired, my dear? We could sit and rest awhile, if you'd like."
She smiled in appreciation and sat down, kicking the heels off immediately. "This type of shoe is awful," she said with a grin. "Whoever designed them should be made to take a 10 mile hike in them."
Fitz smiled, as he realized that they wouldn't be going anywhere for awhile, and replied, "You're quite right; I have no idea how you ladies wear them at all! Here, love, why don't you get comfortable and rest your head on my shoulder-that's it, relax. We don't have to leave this bench one second before you're ready to." He put his arm up behind her as he sat beside her, and cuddled her close as she snuggled comfortably against his shoulder. They sat enjoying the sounds of the birds and the company of each other for quite awhile. Her shawl had long since been set aside, and Fitz took the opportunity to caress her bare shoulders as they talked. He also couldn't help nuzzling her hair, as he breathed in her scent, and told her softly, "You smell lovelier than all the flowers here put together, Sarah. Your scent has always been one of the things that attracts me most to you. It reminds me of waterfalls and spring flowers and all that is beautiful about the outdoors." His nuzzles were starting to go lower, to her neck, as he held her gently with both arms now. She was totally relaxed in his arms, and she couldn't help giggling when his little kisses started to cross the soft mounds of her breasts. He was obviously enjoying the view.
He chuckled softly too, at the sounds of her giggles. But then the chuckles ceased, as he devoted his attention to slowly nosing down the top of the dress. He worked his way down lower and lower, until her breasts were bared to the night air and he was paying them very devoted homage indeed, switching sides every so often with his mouth to make sure neither breast felt ignored. He was encouraged on by her soft moans above him, as she stroked his hair. His hand reached behind her and unzipped her dress so it made it even easier to play with them. Groaning, she pulled away and stood up, and the dress slid off of her onto the ground, leaving her in just panties, garter belt and stockings.
He followed her up, and again held her close, one hand straying down the back of the panties and first caressing her beautiful ass, then reaching forward between her legs and investigating her folds, which were by now very wet indeed. He knew how careful he had to be, and reached first for her nub, then inside her, with a knowing touch as she moaned and writhed in his arms.
In the meantime, she was making short work of getting his clothes off as well. His shirt and jacket joined the dress on the ground, and she started to work on getting his now very tight pants undone. The button and zipper proved very little barrier to her, and soon his pants were also hitting the ground, gathering unnoticed around his ankles. As Sarah Jo reached into his silk boxers to stroke his hardness, it was his turn to moan and writhe, starting unconsciously to move in her hand. When neither one of them could stand it any longer, he pulled down his boxers and her panties, which fortunately had been worn on the *outside* of the garter belt, so they were easily removed, and sat down on the bench. As he did, he lifted her easily to straddle him, and brought her down onto his aching manhood, piercing her barrier and bringing matching moans from both of them. With her settled firmly on him, he started to move her up and down on him, both of them panting and kissing passionately as they moved together. The Bistro was, assuredly, the furthest thing from his mind.

Rayden couldn't help trying some of the drink recipes. He had no idea how they were supposed to taste, though. When Franck came by to see what he was up to, he got him to try a couple, just to taste. According to Franck, they were just right.
That got him really curious. He looked at the list of drinks that he found that were served at the restaurant, and busied himself learning them all.

With the rather urgent way Fitz and Sarah Jo were both moving, neither one noticed Hudson, on his rounds around the aviary, come into view of their park bench. It took him about five seconds to realize what he was seeing, and with a smile, he turned around and went the other way, as quietly as possible. He needn't have worried; Sarah Jo and Fitz were so wrapped up in each other, King Kong himself could have come by , and neither one would have noticed. It didn't seem very long at all before both of them, with soft shouts of each other's names, climaxed together, holding each other very tight as they sat there.
After awhile, they reluctantly released each other. After helping each other clean up a bit using water from a nearby fountain, they got dressed again, stopping for many kisses and cuddles along the way.
Both kind of tired by now, they slowly made their way back to the car, continuing to nuzzle and kiss. As they got in, and Fitz started the car, he smiled as he realized this really had been a perfect night indeed. They decided to stop by the Bistro before he dropped her off, just to see how things were going and let Sarah Jo say hello to Rayden. Fitz knew that everyone else would have gone home by now, including Franck, but he wasn't worried. He had complete confidence in Rayden's ability to watch over his beloved restaurant.
They parked the car in front of the place, and went inside. What they saw then, froze both of them where they stood, unable to utter a sound.
Rayden hadn't been able to resist tasting some of the drinks himself. He knew they had alcohol in them, but he was sure he could be careful enough to only taste a few things and not really have too much. The problem was that some of the drinks tasted so good, he wanted more than just that one little taste. And of course, there were so MANY different drinks... He was vaguely aware that the place had closed for the night and even Franck had gone home, but he was having too much fun tasting things.
When he finally wandered out to the dining room, he had a wonderful idea. He would redecorate! He had all kinds of ideas. Something very different and fun. He remembered the movie he had watched with Ev the night before. Saturday Night Fever. That place had a floor with lights under it and that big reflective ball hanging from the middle of the ceiling...
As Fitz saw his tasteful, elegant restaurant transformed directly into something akin to Studio 54, a famous disco of the 70's, he couldn't believe his eyes-this wasn't real, it was all just a bad dream he would wake up from any minute! As the minutes passed, and he wasn't waking up, he felt it get harder and harder to breathe, and then an unbelievable pain in his chest.....clutching his chest with one hand, he made an odd sound halfway between a gasp and a gurgle, and slid gracefully to the floor, dead of a heart attack!
Sarah Jo managed to catch him as he fell, and eased him onto the floor. Doing a quick check of his vitals, she mumbled something to the effect that Immortals weren't supposed to have heart attacks. She felt the jump of a pulse underneath her fingers on his wrist, and so she decided to give his breathing a boost. Leaning forward, she began to give him artifical respiration, filling his lungs with her breath.
Rayden realized that he was swaying a little as he walked. That was odd, but he felt so good. "What's wrong?" He was puzzled. Why was Fitz on the floor?
"Rayden! Change it back before he wakes up!" Sarah Jo said, using her best head nurse tone of voice. Rayden couldn't help but notice even through the alcoholic fog he was getting a nice view down her dress as Sarah Jo leaned over Fitz's body. He blinked. "Change it back?" It hadn't occurred to him before that he should do it. He changed it back, then carefully sat down in the nearest chair. "I think I had too much to drink."
Just then, there was a moan from beneath Sarah Jo, and Fitz' eyes slowly opened; any residual pain he may have been feeling was quickly dispelled by the sight of the swells of Sarah Jo's breasts under the top of the gown, as she worked over him. As Fitz slowly came fully awake, he looked up at Sarah Jo's face, finally, and said in a weak voice, "Oh-Sarah, I had the most awful dream. I-I dreamed that we came in here, and it was.....a disco! I feel so weak....."
"It's ok, sweetie. Take a look, everything is fine," she said as she gave him a kiss that finished the job of reviving him completely. "But I think we need to get Rayden home now. He is looking a little green around the gills right now."
Fitz looked at Rayden, and nodded. Then, finally noticing where he was, he asked, But....what am I doing on the floor? Did I trip over something and fall?" He was just a bit confused, as he couldn't seem to remember everything that had happened.
Rayden looked as though he was about to say something, but Sarah Jo silenced him with a look. He swayed a little in his chair and couldn't quite seem to get the room to stop moving. It was a very strange sensation. He wasn't sure he liked it.
"Something like that," Sarah Jo said. "Hon, Rayden is a little tipsy. We need to get him home so that his folks can keep an eye on him until he sobers up." Then standing up, she reached down and easily pulled Fitz up to a standing position.
As always when someone needed his help, he put aside his own still puzzled thoughts, and straightened his clothes as he said, "Right. Rayden, old man, can you walk? We'll drive you home, where Ev can take care of you."
Rayden looked a little dazed. All these sensations were new to him and he was distracted. "I think so. Is this what it is to be drunk?" He very carefully got to his feet and found that he needed to lean on something.
Fitz chuckled, and said, "I'm afraid so. All right now, come on, that's it. Easy does it." The two of them supported the wobbly god, one on either side of him, and took him out to the car and literally folded him into it.
With Sarah Jo keeping an eye on their slightly ill passenger, Fitz drove to his home, and then he and Sarah Jo carefully got him out of the car and slowly walked him up the drive. Fitz rang the bell, hoping that Ev would be understanding about this.
Ev answered the door and took one look at her tipsy god and giggled. "I knew he needed a babysitter. He talked me out of it. He shut off the link as much as he could, so I wouldn't know what he was up to. How much did he misbehave tonight?"
"I'll tell you later," Sarah Jo said, as she ducked out from underneath Rayden's arm.
"Well, we're really not sure, as there were no witnesses to it - Franck had to have closed the place a good couple of hours ago, and I can only assume he was still sober then. Whatever he drank, he must have done it between the time that Franck left and we arrived." Fitz frowned, as he thought to himself once again about that puzzling dream he'd had.
Ev accepted delivery of her grinning mate. She sighed and shook her head at him. "Maybe I'll have his parents take him out to their version of the woodshed." That started him giggling. She rolled her eyes at him. "Hopeless, isn't he?"
Fitz chuckled, then said, "Don't give it a second thought." Then he turned to Rayden, and smiled, "Rayden, I wanted to thank you for taking such good care of my restaurant. When you're feeling better, I want you to bring your lovely lady, and your beautiful children, and have a full course dinner, on me." He made sure Ev could also hear this, as he knew Rayden wouldn't be able to remember what he'd said in the morning.
"That would be great! We'd love that. Thank you!" Ev smiled.
Sarah Jo blew them both a kiss and steered Fitz away. "Ok, laddie, bed for you too!" she said with a grin.
"Good night!" Ev called from the doorway. "You'll have to tell me the whole story tomorrow. I hope you had a good night out!" She waved before closing the door and called for Jathelle to help her get Rayden upstairs.
As Fitz walked with Sarah Jo to the car, he once again found himself really wishing he could remember that strange dream. He would ask Sarah about it tomorrow. In the meantime, there were much better things to think about, as he smiled and caressed her bare shoulder again as they approached the car.
