Is There Intelligent Life Out There ?
(notice I didn't say is there any intelligent life here - not really sure)
Next Question: Are we really alone in the universe?
If you really don't care about any of these questions you are in the wrong place - go HERE so you don't sprain something that is called - (gasp) - a mind. Also go there if you believe that a mind is not a terrible thing to waste.
For those of you that haven't left, or are just curious, or just have a lot of time on their hand - this site is for you. I will be "talking" about something that has been bugging me for a long time. And that is - (For those people that complain about too many capital letters in chat rooms I also say GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE) Now I feel better. This site isn't about being civil - this is my site so I shall rant and rave and either you will have to put up with it, agree with me, or go HERE if you are offended by me.
Anyway, for those of you who haven't left, yes you (if I were to somehow have a counter - which I probably will - of people who go on to my next page I probably will only have a total of about 2 visitors) - I hope I have enlarged your interest - sorry - thats probably the only thing that will be enlarged in my site - Groan! Just lost another one - down to 1 visitor ! Anyway, I will be using a non-bias approach to the question of whether or not there is INTELLIGENT life out there. Later on maybe I will ask whether or not any intelligent life has actually visited here.
My main reason why I believe there has to be life out there is pretty simple - out of all of the galaxies and solar systems and planets out there, are we really the only planet to have life? Somehow, I don't believe it. As one of the few scientists out there who actually could talk to the comman person, Carl Sagan would say that there are Billions and Billions of stars out there with Billions and Billions of planets in each of them. Yes, he loved to use the word BILLIONS - I bet his wife used that word to get him excited ! (Sorry Carl) Unfortunately he is dead now so now he can find out about the next big question that I may ask - IS THERE REALLY A GOD
There was a movie devoted to the big question about life in outer space - (which was dedicated to Carl Sagan by the way) called "CONTACT" - short name for an important subject - which I though was rather good. Usually I really can't watch a movie that is short on action - yes this movie was one of those hateful dramas - but this movie really kept my interest. I am almost embarassed to say that I have seen this movie more than 3 times. (I won't tell you how many more times that was !) Since you are still here - a real wonder - then maybe you should rent that movie. I really like the phrase that they kept pounding at you - If there isn't really life out there in the universe - it seems like an awful waste of space Not very scientific I know but a good point.
And I suppose another reason that I believe that there is some sort of intelligent life like us ,or hopefully better than us, and that is GOD ,sorry atheists, wouldn't just make one planet for his creation to watch out over. If God is really omnipresent and omnipotent like most of us believe, then why would he/she be happy with just making one planet for his glory? To me, the idea that God also made other civilizations in other worlds makes sense - it would help explain why somethimes he/she doesn't seem to be here and why this world seems to be all screwed up!
Well anyway, these are my reasons why there might be life in them thar stars out there. If you have an opinion - yes, even if you think I'm wacko, let me know. My idea of a web site is to be entertaining while also carrying some sort of a message - yeah, I know - I'm assuming that I was both and probably was neither ! Oh well. But this is my web site - so I get to say what I want !
