THE MOON         

The moon is a very important part of the wiccan religion. The moon is associated with the goddess.  (Hence the goddess symbol is a full moon flanked by 2 crescent moons.

I consider myself a moon child even though I wasn't born during the time when the moon was at it's peak. Why do I consider myself a moon child? Well that's a good question, but one that isn't so easy for me to explain. Ever since I was a little girl I have always been fascinated by the night sky and the stars but, nothing held my attention like the moon did. I love to just sit and watch it for hours. Everyone has heard the story about the man in the moon right? Well I used to sit and stare at the moon looking to see his face.  To this day when ever I look up I swear I can still see a face smiling down on me.

That's not the only reason I consider myself a moon child. I am drawn to the moon in way's I can't even begin to explain. When ever I am really upset I got outside and sit in the moon light...That always makes me feel better. The phases of the moon affect me as well. People always know when there is going to be a full moon. I always start to get anxious and restless a week or so before and don't settle down until the night of the full moon.

So there you go a brief explanation of why I consider myself a moon child...If you don't understand I'm sorry but I don't know how else to explain it...To those of you that do understand.... she sure is a wonder isn't she?
