"Are you sure this is what you wanna do?" Ah ask Tabitha.

She glares at me. "No, I think I'll just wait 'til I'm in my third trimester to tell them. I'm sure they won't notice!"

"Tabitha�" Ah started. Ah didn't get any farther because she chose that moment to burst into tears.

"I'm sorry, Sam! I didn't mean that!" She wails. Hormones.

Ah look at her and pull her into my arms. She leans against me for a little while. "Feel better?" Ah ask, with a little smile.

"No." She cries.

"Why not?" Ah ask, a little worried.

"Because of YOU, I'M going to get fat and ugly, and then your going to run off with one of those X-Women bimbos and I'm never going to see you again!" Tabitha sobs, clinging to me. "I don't want you to run off and leave me for one of those spandex wearing tramps!"

Ah sigh just a little bit. Ah can remember mah momma actin' jus' like this when she was pregnant, too. Of course Ah wasn't the one getting yelled at!

"What? Why are you looking at me like that? You ARE going to leave!" Tabitha wails.

"No, Ah'm not gonna leave you Tabitha, Ah promise. Ah would never do that. Ah love you." Ah tell her, pushing a strand of her hair out of her face.

Tabitha's face lights up when I say that. "Really?!" She flings her arms around mah neck and squeezes. She pulls back and kisses me for a long second. "I love you, too!"

Ah smile at her. God, she is so pretty. I bend down and kiss her again. She puts her head on my shoulder after we pull apart, and Ah'm rest mah chin on the top of her head.

"Really, you two. Don't you think you have done more then enough of that?" Bobby's voice breaks in. Ah pull back from Tabitha and give him a look. He just grins knowingly. Suddenly Ah remember his remark from a little while ago.

"Wait a minute�Bobby what did you mean by your remark about anything momentous?" Ah ask suspiciously.

"Ummm, nothing?" He asks, grinning like a jackrabbit.

"You KNEW!" Ah accuse, shocked.

"Um, knew what?" Bobby asks innocently.

"Did he know?" I turn to ask Tabitha. She looks like she is going to cry again.

"Well, I didn't know how you would take it and Bobby is your best friend so I figured that maybe I should ask him but then he wanted to know why I wanted to know that so I had to tell so please don't be mad at me Sam I was just SCARED!" Tabitha wails all in one breath.

"Wow, how'd you say all that in one breath?" Bobby asks, amazed.

"Okay, so he knew before Ah did. Ah guess Ah can live with that." Ah conclude.

"Bobby, you insensitive pig!" Tabitha shrieks.

Bobby looks hurt. Tabitha glares at him and then stomps away. Jimmy is coming toward us with a confused look on his face. "What's the matter with her?" He asks, pointing at Tabitha's retreating form.

Bobby smirks. "Sam knocked her up, so know we all gotta listen to her hormones."

"Ah did NOT 'knock her up'!" Ah snap at Bobby.

"YES YOU DID, YOU CREEP!" Tabitha screams from behind me. Oh, shoot. I hadn't realized she'd come back.

"Tabby, that's not what Ah..," That's about as far as Ah got, cause Tabitha pulled back and popped me one.

When I come to, the entire team is looking down at me. "Sam, boyo, are ye alright?" Terry asks me, looking like she was trying to keep from laughing.

"If being alright has anything to do with getting mah butt kicked by mah pregnant girlfriend, than yeah, Ah'm fine." Ah moan, sitting up. Ah'm promptly tackled by Tabitha.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hit you, please forgive me!" Tabitha sobs into mah shirt.

"Shh, it's okay honey." Ah tell her, rubbing her back.

Ah hear Feral mutter "Are we going to have to put up with this for nine months?"
